I grew up in the days of Eloise, I Love Lucy, black and white Andy Griffin, and Dear Abby. Wow, that was our information highway...lol
Now we have the super highway of the Internet thanks to minds much larger than mine. They say in the beginning the Internet was used by computer experts, engineers, scientist and librarians. Today, it seems that just about everyone uses the Internet for one reason or another. I can remember when people put televisions in just about every room of their homes; now you can still find the televisions but multiple computers as well. Thanks to wireless you can travel with your laptop; even in your own home! YES I'm guilty of this too. My how things have changed. In my humble opinion it is used resourcefully by many and abused by others. Today it is up to all Internet users to help monitor the Internet and that is a daunting task indeed. Our world is dependent on the world wide web now and it is hard to remember what we did without it.To me, the Internet is a lot like cell phones, all of us are walking phone booths (just a visual phrase) and few of us can remember when we had to pull over and rely on a public pay phone; nowadays you would be hard pressed to even find one that works. And don't get me starter on blue tooth which makes it hard to tell if a person is truly talking to themselves or on the phone. Hmmmm, makes you take notice either way!For this writer, I hope I never get so old that I cannot appreciate the technology and the minds that create new things and information to make our lives better. In my blogs, I will cover my own Internet Research with you and I wish you happy surfing and happy blogging. Blogging is actually my coffee break.....I service others in business through my site and it is really a joy to help others enhance their own experiences on the World Wide Web.PS - A word to the wise (and this comes from my massage therapist....get off the computer every 20 minutes or so and stretch)... works for me and I had to get a lecture from a kid my son's age to do it!!!!! - I know you are laughing and that's OK because I am laughing with you!
Posted on Nov 14, 2008This is truly an interesting site, already heard from some really special people. I thank each and everyone of you.
In my neck of the woods, last night we dropped to freezing and the leaves are covering the driveway.
As I look out the window across my computer I am reminded how blessed we are in this country. There are people without homes, kids without parents, those that are starving. If we each pick a cause and take a stand we become united to make a difference in lives across the globe, maybe even in our backyard. Hmmmmm, how lucky we are here.
This Thanksgiving we have much to be thankful for.
Posted on Nov 10, 2008After years of service to larger companies I started my own service. You can find me online at showitwithpictures. I'm taking time now to complete a few books and absolutely love the idea of sharing opinions and experiences that can help businesses to do better. Customer service is very important to me, both receiving and giving. In these challenging times, in my opinion, it is more important than ever before.
I love living in the Great Smokies. My husband finally got me into motorcyling; my favorite is the toy runs and seeing what people that come together for a cause can accomplish.
I would love to see Sears and Kmart continue to improve their service, the products for the most part are great. This site is a breath of fresh air.
Waxing up my skis for the season. I would teach my little dog but I think she is content with the treadmill and going on the toy runs.
