It's almost here. And then it will be over. YAY!!!
Posted on Dec 17, 2009OK, so I have to gripe. I don't know who makes up the time schedules for the planograms but they need to wake up. I have been working on the screwdriver planogram since 9am this morning. For 3 of those hours I had help and we were both steadily working. It is now 2pm and I'm still only about 75% done. This planogram was slated for 5 hrs. So far Ive had to spend an accumulated 9 hrs on it and im still not done. And i know it's not just me. I work fairly quickly. I think what they don't take in account is the fact we have to clean up as we go, clean the shelves replace ALL the price labels whether we changed them or not, flex the clearance and put away the over stock before we can consider it done. MAYBE if we just threw everything on the floor, hung the hooks and the product and screw the rest we could finish in 5 hrs but I dont do things that half-*****. Excuse my language.
Another thing. The Task scheduler. I dont know if any of you that are reading this (or if any one is) have to use this, but its a crock. I spend at least an hour making sure i have all the numbers right, planned out, people scheduled for differnt tasks. For this week I had calculated 108 hrs. We have PCN/991, Ad sets, Ad Prep (15 hrs alone). My supervisior comes back and says her system is saying I only have 67. 67? I have almost that much in planograms alone! That doesnt give me time for ad sets or pcns or their precious Out Of Stocks. I dont know who's going to do those as there isn't anyone scheduled that early in the morning to do them because we have to use the hours for the POGS to get ready for the enormous Holiday set next week. They didnt even give me enough time to do the **** task scheduler for the next week. I dont know how Im going to fit it all in. This is insane. It's not my supervisors fault either, they're just reading the report they've been given. But someone in the payroll department needs to talk to someone in the Merchandising department and get their hours straight. Or else this is going to end in a huge disaster. If we cant get the pogs and everything else done this week, it will just flow over to next week, we'll get hit for something that isnt our fault, and the holiday set will be pushed back till who knows when. but we have to get that done on time or they'll throw a hissy.
Grr.
That's all I'm saying.
Grr.
Oh and PS. I know some one would mention; If i didn't have any time why am I sitting here writing this? I'm on my company required 30 min (no more/no less) lunch. So there :P
Posted on Sep 21, 2009Twas the night before the weekend and all through the store,
Not a person was shopping,
Not even Lenore.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
Off the truck comes boxes,
Christmas Is Here!
~
We got our first shipment of Holiday merchandise people! Get ready for it. Here it comes!
Posted on Sep 11, 2009We have been slowly chipping away, making our store the best it can be for the past few months to get ready for something they're calling the Retail Core Compliance Certification. Basicly they're just making sure we are on top of everything that makes the store run smoothly. Everything has a spot, things are getting done on time and correctly, things look good, etc. It's so detailed though Its Insane! Bird poo on the sidewalk and we fail the whole outside building inspection. YIKES!! Well, our walk was today and I am happy to announce we got a 94%! Passing is 90% or better, and we ranked higher then most of the district I believe. It's a nice feeling to know that all of the hard work amounted to something. Not something I get to feel often enough. We get a plaque and everything! Makes me very proud to be a part of team WILSON!!
Posted on Aug 26, 2009Freinds and Family was a complete sucess. Not only did we score a decent PA percentage, we had the best sales increase in the district! WoOOT!! I would just like to thank all our loyal freinds that came out to Sears Wilson last night. Customers make our store what it is.
I don't think Ive stopped running since I've been here this morning. I don't think Ive had so many questions and issues. Luckily however I was able to make everyone happy. Which doesn't always happen, but when it does it makes me feel so....... :D
Posted on Aug 17, 2009Tonight's Freinds and Family. I'm working the ever so anticipated 12.5 hr shift. Ive done 16+ before so it doesnt bother me too much. We're having the theme of Back to School. I got fun pencils, rulers, stickers, etc. for the kids. We're having a craft table where the kiddos can just color and have fun and an activity of making your own bookmark! I painted a sheet of plywood with chalkboard paint and got a ABC border for the top of it for a decoration among lots of others. Cookies and snacks for the munchies, and of course I insisted on apples! An apple a day keeps the teacher at bay! Should be fun. All right...Ad set time.... ug.
