Vornado Vornado 723B Premium Full-size 3-Speed Air Circulator
This fan is fantastic. We bought it as a replacement for a broken pedestal fan and love it. It's also fairly safe around a child -- the fan blades are recessed far enough below the grate that a child's fingers can't reach them, either from the outtake or intake sides. The stand is well-balanced and it takes some effort to capsize the fan.
The only drawback, and this is true of most fans, is that the control dial goes from OFF -> HIGH -> MED -> LOW , meaning you have to go through a burst of wind to get to a lower setting or to turn the fan off.
