Bought one just like this in March 2006,  the Sears Kenmore Elite Chest Freezer.  I bought the "Sears Best" becuase it has the alarm with a battery back up which sounded like areat idea, plus it is their best...right?   Today I had the Sears repair man out because of an annoying beep every 5 seconds and a flashing CE, which means communication error.  The repair tech said I would have to replace two electronic boards, a wiring harness and the door.  All for around $800.00.  I have decided to pass since I had already spent $300.00 on the freezer about 2 years ago (electronic board...big...
