Hey many thanks to Workaholic, SHC-BAllen, and LaurelS for making a dreary day into a cheery day! Posted on Dec 08, 2009

Today a couple of our members were a little discouraged about pressing ahead forming an official non profit so I took my journal and showed the members what they have done just this week!

Here is a typical Weaver Beaver week:

Sunday: flea market, visit 2-3 KMarts

Monday: work, donate coupons, books to library

Tuesday: off, shop clearance and post free stuff to craigslist

Wed: work, pick up free stuff and buy our own groceries at Super K

Thurs: Work, more give-aways,

Friday: fast food give aways at bus transit center to folks on the way to work

Saturday: maybe work, maybe flea market, wash and sort donated clothing

Also recycle scrap metal donated and use that to buy clearance for people in need. .  . .

My extended family tends to celebrate Thanksgiving. I remember it as rather stressful. and then they would put up the tree, and start donating things ot make room for all the new presents they expected. Some of them did Scottish Rites which involves replacing lots of your stuff, and Boxing Day, which is sharing with the less fortunate.

I know food is a social event,  but I prefer to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas Day out and about looking for people who aren't having the best holiday, and make it a teeny bit better.Margita and I were handing out deli food and washing clothing to give away. I have a friend who likes studying ethnic relations, as I do, and she said "You don't do Thanksgiving do you, as a Native American?" I said, well, I don't want to add to a weight problem, I do Thanksgiving by what we are doing today. And we also saw a Muslim man who is now an American citizen, feeding a woman and trying to convince her she could work as a clerk instead of "working girl". I think this man  changed her life, because he was open on Thanksgiving Day. It was an honor to see this. He was performing a public service called Zakat, which his Bible <Koran> tells him to do. It is an honor to be chosen for someone's Zakat, as we were many years ago, and it falls on a holiday called Eid, near Thanksgiving time.

Seen any good deals on TV's lately? I am thinking of a 27 or 32 inch Samsung as a Christmas gift for my daughter. A nice, sleek flat screen LCD, and maybe a new dvd player to go with it.

I'll be able to get it, too, with all the money I saved using KMart brands for soda, formula, even things like bacon, eggs, and mayo! It costs us about $20 a week to feed two adults comfortably and Little Ones saves me about $60 a month on formula, yet it has ALL the nutrients recommended by the FDA for baby's healthy growth!

I spent all day and all paycheck at KMarts yesterday. I must have seen a half dozen on the same day. There is a flea market called 161 at Bessemer City that I used to sell at, on my way to Shelby Big KMart. . .Mr. Green ran it, and the storage sheds really needed to be replaced. Morale was low, and vendors were selling off one by one.

Customers needed more parking to be able to reach our tables, and very few people seemed to know and appreciate the good deals. I stopped by yesterday to pay a year old debt of $5, and I was worried that Mr. Green was out of business. I drove by huge market, with overflow parking, and shiny new covered booths, and realized that was "the 161". In true Christian fashion Mr. Green insisted that I did not owe any $5, and he was glad I had a more reliable car, and I was truly thrilled that he had listened to his vendors and customers. The new selections were even nicer than the old ones, and we saw a lot of old friends who had returned,

If one man can revive a dying flea market and turn it into a major selling arena all by himself in a year, then I know KMart can open more stores as the customers are begging SHC to do!

Good morning! Are you done with Christmas shopping or just thinking about it?  Today, I am all about shoes, my first love, and baby things.  This Christmas with the economy so rough, maybe practical gifts would be in order. So please check my reviews of baby furniture, shoes, and apparel.

Also, KMart would be a great place to make a gift basket. A reusable plastic storage container, filled with American Fare groceries, or health and beauty items, or candy and treats wold really make someone smile. Our family is going to be doing  KMart gift cards for the most part, but there are many choices with KMart. For those with higher budgets, please check for electronics reviews later this week.

Today I won A Simple thanks! I am so thrilled! There is no place like KMart.

Thanks to everyone who read my reviews.

I see that there are a lot of "shutterbugs" here and I have a long way to go. I uploaded my second photo and it is still grainy. I will be getting a disk together with a reasonable picture and I will be sharing my shoe story.

I have mad respect for all you Shutterbugs! How on earth do you do it?

Watching a lot of netflix, and writing reviews. I can't wait to go to the super K in Concord next week. I will miss KMart very much when I go to Texas...

I am trying an experiment,Just to see how much of my shopping I can get done just within the KMart/Sears family. For example, I used to get leg braces from VA hospitals and now I am a loyal KMart Shoe fanatic.

Likewise I am hoping to find a sears optical nearby and save some time and money too. I have always preferred KMart over other stores, but what if I made it my only store?

What about road trips? Can you imagine the different clearance and blue light opportunities if I stop by places that I travel anyway?
