I am in my 70's and don't want to walk behind a mower... even self propelled. I was at the Sears store and saw the small Craftsman, LT-2000 riding mower with a 42" deck and bought it. I have a fairly large lot, about 200x200 and this mower gets around my shrubs, house, etc with ease. The 42" deck and 17.5 hp Briggs engine make easy work of mowing now.

review »This seems like a capable workhorse. No need to go bigger, even for a large area.
Brought the LTS 2000 home yesterday "fully assembled - ready to mow". Went about 15 feet and the transmission vibrates itself into high speed. Probably just a tension spring or something, but when I spend over a grand on a product I expect it to work. Taking it back today for a refund.
