Bought a 'Craftsman Professional 28129 8.0 amp Corded 1/2" Hammer Drill' about 15 mos ago and i am an avid craftsman owner. with mitre saws, recip. saws, 19v drills, jigsaw, and various other hand tools.

Bought this $100 drill w/o a warranty and used it 6 times, when it flat out fell apart!. Went to the dealer looking to rebuy craftsman for a discount, or free repair, nothing nada. i guess my expectations were too high for a repeat customer in this economy.. Your retail sales staff needs to get more creative or xmas will be slow.

Anyways .. this type of drill is being offered by many competitors with longer warranties , basically .. they are offering more for your business!.. after this experience, I glady did that.. sorry sears won't be buying any pro series products until that warranty is bumped.

Thank you for your response. I just completed an order for the parts that I need. Thanks again! I do have to tell you that the parts' identification numbers (that are shown on the illustrated parts list) are extremely difficult to read; several are impossible to read. I had to make an "educated" guess as to the correct number for one of the parts that I ordered. Thank you.

Theres an illustrated parts list for this saw at searspartsdirect.com and theres a downloadable owners manual at managemylife.com under the "manuals" tab.

And best of all,it looks like all the parts are in stock.

The saw fell, from the table that we had it mounted-on, to a concrete floor. The main operating handle (where all the switches are located), which is basically "all plastic", broke in several places. I bought the saw "used" and have no Owner's Manual with it. I need to find an Owner's Manual and a parts list (so that I can order replacement parts) but so far every inquiry I've made comes up with nothing. Please help me with any information that you might have. Thank you.

You can make your own by tracing out the outline of you throat plate on a piece of wood that you have planed down the the same thickness. Cut the outline, place it in the saw and screw down, with the blade down and the dado set to your desired width slowly raise the blade until it goes completely through the wood.

I have 3 that I use one a 1/4 one 1/2 in and the other 3/4. Nothing falls through and your push stick won't get caught on the edges.

If all he's going to do is sharpen lawn mower blades a hand held 4" grinder will be much cheaper and he can sharpen the blades without taking them off.
