Hi LIZZIE1450! I have found every brand is pretty different in the fit. I have noticed the big difference in most slim and regular brands seem to be that the leg is a bit smaller in the thigh for fit in the slim sizes when compared to the regular.

The slim seems to fit my skinny-legged boy a bit better than the regular.

Last year I thought I saw toughskins jeans in sizes 8 and up so I came back to buy some for my now nine year old and they aren't here. We do not have a Sears clothing store within 60 miles of us, so exchanging detroyed jeans every two to three weeks is out of the question. He tears through every other brand/type that frequently but it takes him the whole school year to get through the toughskins double knee.

I am very disappointed and hope that I will see what I need here soon. In the meantime, I will buy some jeans locally and install my own double layer piece from last year's jeans.....more work was really not what I needed.

I know that some of the Sears stores are downsizing sections of the Lands' End Department. My store no longer has Women's sized clothing and a lot of people are upset about that. We are hoping that Lands' End changes its mind. Your store may be doing the same type of thing. I would suggest either making a suggesting to Lands' End that you want it back and/ or talk to the people who work at your Sears and they should be able to tell you where the nearest Sears would be with Lands' End children apparel.

Hi Rhonda, Yes, the "X" (7X) is about the extra length. Makes them a little longer. My son wears size 7 pants and turned 8 in March. We have pretty good luck with the South Pole pants in length and after school he usually changes out of his school clothes before playing outside. Julie from Cali.

My 6 yr old son currently wears a size 7 in jeans and I was wanting to know what the difference is between a regular size 7 and the size 7X that I see offered? I see these 7x jeans are offered as a 7x slim, and then a 7x regular so is it just extra length for the taller boy that is not quite ready for the size 8 jeans? Please let me know as I plan to purchase more today as he wears them out quick and I messed up this last time and bought them at Penneys instead of Sears when I KNEW I would be sorry about the wear out guarentee!! Thanks Rhonda

I wanted to purchase Toughskins for my 9 year old who just grew into size 8, and was very disappointed that the double knee jeans are not available after 7x. Please pass it on to the appropriate department that there is demand for larger sizes of the toughskins double knee. I would rather just have them last than to have to save the receipt and bring them in to exchange them! It also seems strange and unfair that my 3rd grader shops in the same department and price point as high-schoolers.
