Why do American Citizens Vote?

Hey Shadetree! I think the last message to you got censored, and/or deleted. So much for saying what you think around here. I am glad I didn't visit Sears while I was at the mall earlier today since I am not appreciated. All I did was discuss some history and ask a few questions. I guess somebody has a real personal problem with what I discussed. Hopefully they will stay out of my life for good. On that note I am thinking of bugging out with what is left of my good will for good anyway. Too many difficult people trying to take out their anger on others. Yeah, I am insulted after taking the time to try to explain something and somebody either complain about it or delete it. Why can't I discuss history and all these other people appear to be allowed to? Why didn't they delete themselves back to podunk?

How can people vote an incumbent out of office, or try to prevent a candidate from being elected that they think will do harm to them if the votes they cast are not counted or dumped by a superdelegate? Not to mention how good of a match they are politically.

Some people claim Wikipedia is telling the story the way a certain group of people want you to read it rather than the truth. Have you ever studied a thing called the New World Order? What do you know about it? There are a lot of discussions about it and it sounds really weird.

thank you julie k. it was a dream come true, now we are grandparents of 4 grandbabies.and we just had a daughter that had a new baby boy. 2 weeks ago and now the other daughter is due any day now! we are blessed that we a came a long way. from a crush in high school to having grand babies.before i met him we were both married two times before. and now being married for almost 13 yrs. we came a long way, and i think being all grown up when we married. at the age of 41yrs.old and now almost 54yrs.old we have a wonderful life and love each other more and more each day!!

Interesting question!! It was developed so that evenings have more daylight and mornings have less daylight and was implemented after WWI. Adding daylight to the evenings is supposed to benefit sports, retailing, etc. andI wonder what others think since it's been both praised and criticized since being implemented!

Berkowitz Says SHLD Intrinsic Value is a "Pretty Big Number"

In an interview posted Wednesday with Fairholme Fund's Bruce Berkowitz, he commented on a question about the "intrinsic value" of Sears (Nasdaq: SHLD), a company the fund holds a large stake in.

In response to the question, Berkowitz talked about the company's "long-leases" and the value of being the "anchor" in many malls.

Berkowitz would not comment on an exact "intrinsic value" number, but said if you look at the long leases, the mall-anchor status, brands and online stores you come up with a "pretty big number" at "multiples" of current levels.

When asked if Sears is Eddie Lampert's Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-a), he said it could play out the same. He noted that Warren Buffett had similar problems when he first bought Berkshire and sold what couldn't be fixed. He said the comparison between the two is a "pretty good analogy."

Shares of Sears Holdings are up 0.8% today to $47.68.
