I often use the site to drain adrenaline out of my system, after a particularly exciting retail day...

Sk-You is a fantastic forum to read and/or review products from Sears and K-Mart and just about anything else under the sun. I usually start my day off by signing in to see what has been reviewed. It is a good start to the day because so many reviewers are witty and just down right fun to read even for the most mundane products that are out there. I do a review now and then, too. So recognition comes in all forms and I always try to recognize a reviewer with the thumbs up and hopefully a kind word on their review. At least I try to. Thanks for a great forum!!

I'm new here and I do try to come in a few times a week. I have found the reviews very helpful and don't mind sharing opinions on the things I have tried. Is it required to come on everyday?

Wow, I'm honored someone with a high level of intelligence in this community mentioned me!!!

The subtle point I was trying to make was that I find more reviews leading me towards competitors websites than I do for Sears/kmart items. Logic dictates that promoting something the company can make money off of seems more promising than linking people to our competitors. I love that it's fair enough here to review anything from anywhere, I totally appreciate the wisdom in that. Theres got to be something simple to tweak that problem without having someone look at every single review.

The vacation angle just seemed like something to get more people with disposable income here. By coming here first and logging in, one accepts a cookie that says I'm an sk-you member. Benefits include a new window that opens you to a world of discounts online and gives sk-you valuable marketing data and trends that you use to make Sears appealing/respectable again..... that was my line of thought. That seems to be the idea behind this site, staying in touch with market trends and data.

Thanks again for the mention and pat yourself on the back, you do great work and make this site very helpful for rookies like myself!

We're so happy to have acitive posters in the skYOU community! Not everyone can get in here every day but it's great if you can! I'm just looking for some ideas from you guys and gals about what would make you feel appreciated. So keep those ideas coming and I'll see what I can do.

There are a lot of folks in the community who are interested in electronics and apparel. Do you think you'd use coupons or special discounts for things like these as an added benefit to being a member? I like the vacation idea, especially since it's something everyone could use. We don't sell vacation packages but we do sell the kinds of things you'd need on vacation. Maybe that would help, Willis4play?

You know what would be great for sk-you is a vacation planner! It could be a win-win for everyone. Consumers would stumble across sk-you, employees would find their way here for discounts, and sk-you could put some coin in their coffers. Might not be that hard to pull off, either way it's just food for thought and would definitely be appreciated. Here save X% off your next vacation, thank you for doing extra :)

I think it takes time to be active, I am a passionate writer, and a very outspoken person, so this community seems great for me because it shares one common theme, Sears and Kmart. Other social networking sites are so entirely huge, it would be impossible to get your ideas out there, let alone about a certain product or store. As much as I would love to write for hours on here, it's hard to squeeze in time.

The best recognition that I could receive for being active is just a small "thank you" or acknowledgment of my idea. That in itself would be enough for me. I think recognition takes time, diligence and hard work and in the midst of things, I am just happy to be apart of the SHC family and I'm dedicated to be committed to this community for as long as it take, (I want to say forever, but it sounds cliche, lol).

Keep up the good works guys, and as I say, "Change is going to come!"

I was VERY active in 2008 but I realized I was spending WAY TOO MUCH time on the site so I made a resolution to cut back and go back to a previous passion--reading! I now come on daily, read reviews, post some and visit the boards but I don't hang out on them for hours on end like I was doing.

My trip was great I had an opportunity to spend some quality time with him before he left. Although the last day was sad when he left. Knowing I wont see him for over a year is difficult. I am always torn between being proud of my boys and worrying and missing them.

I will pass your message on to them. It really helps them to know that they people who appreciate them back home. After all they are doing this for us.

I read where we will be shifting locations of our Marines in Iraq to another area across the water in the near future. My prayers will be for your love one across the water and all of service personel.

Tell your son the next time he calls that the prayers of our Nation are for him and WE support him and his brothers and sisters that wear the EGA as well as our other service personal.

You can be honest without being negative. You cant make impact by keeping quiet but there is a right way to do this. The question is do you want to change things for the better or just want something to complain about.

I usually get on daily but I have been gone a little while at camp Lejeune to see my son off to Iraq. ArmyWife02 good luck to your family and thank your husband for his service and thank you as well. The families of our military make many sacrifices too.

I drop by now and again....post some when I can. Life will be taking a turn for me soon as my husband will be home soon, so I am staying active around the house getting things ready for his return. So if I fall off the face of the earth for awhile don't worry about me..I will be back sooner or later, just will be enjoying my family being whole again.

Well, you can voice an honest opinion without implicating yourself or anyone else. If someone feels their job or reputation is on the line I would think they would be more mindful of what they say.

Some who post on Sk-you and/or Viewpoints are also staff and employees of the mother companies so of course they should be mindful of what they say so as not to run off the guests. And many of us have learned to admire the community leaders or people at the top so we would extend our sincerest thanks to them for a job well done. Round of applause for Michelina, Meredith, Jolie, Courtney and all the others out there!

Like Thumper said in Bambi: "Mama, says if you can't say something nice. Don't say nothing at all."

I think the active members are active because they really enjoy Viewpoints. Why else would we dedicate this much time to a social networking site?

Moonbeamer's profile indicates 18 years with Sears or Kmart. The last 4 or 5 have given him/her/us plenty to b*tch about. There is also liability and ethical issues regarding inside information that is available to employees thru Sears Internet. Perhaps Rob, Mickey or Jolie can provide some clarification between posting on the SK-You message boards and the Viewpoint boards.

Like Gigi, I'm not keeping score but just here for a Good time and plan to be a contributor from time to time... which seems to be daily. hmmmm

Maybe it would come across as a reprimand if you were the employee. I guess the staff at Sears, K-Mart and Viewpoints are trying real hard to make this a pleasant site for people to share the knowledge on products, to interact with others and to learn, grow and laugh in an environment that feels comfortable and safe.

If the employee were too negative I guess someone might approach them about their attitude just to keep it from effecting the other guests.

A smart person wouldn't identify themself if they were being nasty; especially if the negativity were being directed toward their boss or company.

Me, I come to Viewpoints to publish reviews, read reviews and vote/comment on them and have the time of my life at the board games that my friends and I participate in. I would be very upset if someone "attacked" me. I'm a very sensitive person both about myself and toward others so I am very mindful to not intentionally hurt or offend someone and if I think I have then I am quick to apologize.

Why don't you follow my Friends' activity over to some fun and exciting games? Anyone's welcome and I am sure you would have a blast! ~Gigi

Surely someone wouldn't be penalized for voicing their opinion on a public forum. That would be discrimination against one individual who would feel they didn't have the freedom that the rest of us do here at Viewpoints.
