I'm on the "clean up" crew...

I'm going to miss the large crowd and just need to be of service, AFTER the big sale, ending at 12.

I wonder how well those new cardboard displays will hold up from the surge of Customers in the doors, at 4 AM?

Yes I will be shopping the Black Friday sales and Sears is always at the top of the list. My husband is always needing more Craftsman tools. I've already started making my list (thanks to many leaked ads) and I try to knock off as many places as I can by shopping online before hitting the stores. I will not be going to Wal-Mart this year though because it was crazy last year- jammed with too many pushing people and we just left without purchasing anything. No sales are worth that- lol.

More sales, practically no returns.

I LOVE working Friday! There is no worry about getting tasks done or deadlines or big projects. You're there for one perpose only and that it to make sure everyone finds what theyre looking for. Nothing quite like the feeling you get after someone thanks you with that enthusiasm, like you made their entire Holiday. In a world were your job is thankless. It gives you just a little bit of satisfaction, even just for the day. The days following Chirstmas is another thing entirely......returns, grumpiness.....erk.

Hmm--Thanksgiving- perhaps the real meaning has been lost in favor of greed & getting the best deal?! Sharing and helping out the less fortunate and in these times there are many. Giving back --donate your time at the local food pantry or community service. I hope you all get the deals your looking for.

I typically work on Black Friday so the idea of waking up at 3am to wait outside a store until it opens and than going to work a 10 hour shift just does not interest me at all.

I agree with Michelina that hopefully after the experiences previous years all will be safe this year. I have never and will never go shopping on that day because of the rush, crowds, parking problems, etc. I do not think any sale is worth that. I have found that a few days before Christmas has some great sales too. I guess that might make me a type of procrastinator for buying gifts, but it seems the crowds are much less then:)

Well let's all stay safe when out shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. I don't usually make it out until later in the weekend since I have so much to do after entertaining 25 people until midnight or so the night before. But I'll keep an ear out for your big finds!

I use the full weight of a 4 cash register island to shield myself from the initial surge of Customers rushing into the store.

Or, take the honorable way out, and hide back in the warehouse, until the Sana-mi of Customers has occurred...

I wonder who is going to be out on the floor, helping Customers, now that Cashiers are not allowed to ring up under Sales Associates numbers?

each year, I shop at black friday for mostly the deals,and to get some of my christmas shopping done for my family relatives and friends. so it's a mix of both finding a good deal is great for the holidays, and alot easier. when compare to doing shopping at the last minute
