Did you shop at Kmart last holiday season? Why or why not?

Yep, I always shop at Kmart during the holidays so I imagine I will this year too. I'm more of an instant gratification shopper as well so I tend to not use layaway.

If you saw the tens of thousands of dollars of merchandise placed on layaway last Christmas, you wouldn't think layaway was past its prime. There's a lot of people with bad credit who want the installments of credit without having good credit.

It's a 4 hour drive. So, I only get their occasionally. But, I'll be looking forward, this years to see any differentiation between the Sears holiday offerings and KMart's offerings.

Last year, there was a lit Pig holiday lawn ornament.

But, I wasn't able to make the trek to the store in time to see/buy her.

Maybe this year, the timing will be better?

I love Kmart and always try to find what we need or want there first and when the garden hours are open I can usually check out there without a long wait. The staff is pleasant and helpful but you have to ask. There's another local big name store right across the street from my Kmart, which is only 5 miles distance, but I dislike the other store because they are overly crowded and they can have 10 lanes open and you will still have a lengthy wait, even in the garden exit. It's the crazy customer's who are shoving, pushing, children screaming or allowed to run rampant, which is why I avoid that store if at all possible. I actually don't mind paying a few pennies more for the peace of mind. My husband also loves the Sears section that was added recently and I think he has a craftsman tool to replace. Kmart/Sears is definately the place for me!

Yes, I shopped at Kmart this past holiday season and plan to do so this year as well. My local Kmart is always clean and well-stocked, and I appreciate the late holiday hours. The additional special sales like Friends and Family help too!

No. There is no KMart within 50 minutes of my home. The one that is 50 minutes away is a complete mess, dirty, smelly, unkept, uncaring employees and so on. Customer service? What's that?

I don't shop at Kmart for the most part. Really, Kmart isn't differentiated (in a good way). The stores are terribly outdated and understaffed, and the prices don't make dealing with that worthwhile. Whenever there is a good deal, it's quickly out of stock. I recently heard of an individual who is a social worker who got an interview for a client, and they kept getting stood up. As they were waiting the third time, a number of customers were putting their goods down and leaving because the line (yes, line, not lines) was terrible. I want to like Kmart, but I've pretty much given up, and I don't think I'll bother again until they renovate the stores and show some commitment. I'll stick with Target for now. They're not perfect, but their presentation is much better and their prices are competitive.

Sears, on the other hand, I enjoy. Some stores also need to some upgrades, but they aren't in nearly as bad of a condition, and the staffing is much, much better.

No, because the stores near me were so messy and unkept also nothing seemed in stock which is a shame becuase I would've walked out spending a couple of hundred dollars. Also
I think layaway is passed its prime in the credit/plastic age so no I wouldn't use this as all.

Traditionally I have seldom shopped at Kmart. My husband HATED the store. However, we are separated getting divorced now, and I have found a pretty good store within 25 miles from me, and I love the prices. So in answer to the question, No I did not, but I will from here on out.

I might use layaway, I didn't know you still could layaway items.
