I still love the good old red & white checked Better Homes cookbook. I use that for basic recipes and if there's something I have no clue about or a technique I don't know how to do, the Joy of Cooking always saves the day. Another favorite for comfort food cooking is any cookbook compiled by churches or organizations. Everyone always puts their best recipes in there. But my all time favorite is the America's Test Kitchen cookbook and magazine.

I need to check out the Julia Child French cookbook though. When I saw that chicken mushroom recipe in Julie & Julia it looked super good and I want to try that one recipe very much.

I haven't gotten his new cookbook yet, but I check out his recipes online all the time. Especially his ice cream recipes. Although, I will say, that for ice cream, no one beats Bruce Weinstein's recipes.

I recently got an ice cream maker and I am trying new stuff all the time! Let me know if you have recipes to share.

I just recently purchased Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking and I love it! The recipes taste wonderful and they are very hard to mess up. She gives extremely detailed instructions. I also love any Paula Dean cookbook! I also just purchased a Philadelphia Cream Cheese cookbook. It has some really great cheesecake recipes. There's a great recipe for a spinach bacon party dip in there as well. I have LOTS of cook books lol!

It's not much of a cookbook, but Marco Pierre White's White Heat is really amazing.

Has anyone picked up the new dessert cookbook, Ready for Dessert, by Pastry Chef and Blogger David Lebovitz? I just got it and it looks great! Can't wait to try some of his recipes, and he's fun to read. Great stories with his recipes. I love his cookbook on ice cream - The Perfect Scoop!
