Kenmore Pro Model -built in side by side refrigerator freezer

I am looking for a built-in refrigerator freezer in stainless steel that MUST be 84"H, 25"D, and 48"W, to replace a sub zero model of the same dimensions. I looked at the Kenmore Pro model which size wise is fine, but the doors are SO very HEAVY to open. Is that typical of this model or was it just on the floor model I looked at. I am hesitant to purchase it as I know opening and closing the doors will be a major effort. Anyone have experience with this model?

Keep your favorite stores (Sears here) aware of what you are looking for. I stumbled across a counter depth, top of the line Jenn-air SS with freezer on the bottom at a very discounted price. Someone before me had ordered a left hand door and got a right hand door. I was vacilating on what to finally get and lo and behold I snatched it up. Perfect condition, never used, but a special item that might be attractive to only a few. It doesn't open exactly right for me either, but I am planning some changes for my little kitchen and have just the place for it. I like maintaining a good relationship with salespeople and businesses, therefore they like to hear that they have someone to call when a mistake has happened and they might be stuck with something hard to sell. I lucked out, but you can too. Good luck, Dan..!!

Metallic finish (not real stainless steel) in a counter-depth model? Nope. Not gonna happen. They won't put a fake finish on a premium niche product. It would be like putting pleather seats into a Maserati. I mean, could they? The technology exists. But, would they? Heck no. Pay a premium price, get a premium product.

Counter Depth / French Door

GE's French door models are made by Samsung, so a Samsung and GE will have the same guts with slightly different cosmetics. However, I see no GE counter-depth 3-door models on sears.com. The Kenmore Elite and LG are going to be the same, generally, with some slight differences here and there. I don't know what you mean by "door left open" problems.

Very few have issues, and every brand has some specimens that will be problematic, but they're rare. Remember, if you let negative reviews rule your purchases, you'll never be able to buy anything anywhere. You can type literally any brand into google followed by "sucks" and find plenty of people complaining.

People complain. People very very seldom say "I bought X and it works exactly as expected and does not exhibit any negative characteristics." If we called out everything in life that went as expected, we'd never have time to do anything else. We focus on the anomalies. That's just human nature. And it's human nature to think that the anomalies, if we see a certain number of them, equal a universal truism. Our brains do all kinds of things that don't make any sense when you look at them objectively, but they're the only brains we have.

Looking for a counter depth french door frige. Soooo many to choose from. I like the 4 door, GE & LG. Saw bad reviews of the LG. Water dripping, and door left open problems. Kind of like the Kennmore, but they tell me it is the same as the LG. The energy rating on the Kennmore is pretty good, but concerned that it is an LG. Have seen no comparison of the GE and Kennmore. Any guidance would be appreciated.

depth of refrigerator

The width of my old refrigerator is 32". The space between the side wall and cabinet where the refrigerator would be placed is 36" if I remove the quarter round base shoe and leave up the base molding around the wall. This is a workable solution for increasing the width with out taking away the finished look of the molding.

Hm. One of your measurements is wrong. Either your old refrigerator's width is incorrect or the space's width is incorrect. Knowing which it is will help a lot, as the Kenmore model is 35.75" wide (as are most such refrigerators). Can you clarify? Thanks. :)

The space I have is as follows:

69" high x 30" deep x 35" wide. I could get at least another 1/2" inch in both height and width if I needed to. The depth is a challenge because the side wall is 29" deep and I don not want the unit sticking out much more than 2 additional inches. I am very interested in the Kenmore model if the size works.

Do you mean 30" deep not counting the handles, or counting the handles?

Regardless, there are counter-depth 3-door refrigerators available from Kenmore Elite and Electrolux.

But, what I want to know is what is the width of the space for the refrigerator? That's far more important than the size of the old refrigerator.
