If Sears really wants to take a share in the current retail marketplace, what the company really needs to do is raise morale of its employees.  Most employees are paid min wage with minimum hours as humanly possible.  I've never seen so many unhappy people when I go into a Sears store.  Most of them can't even afford to live on the wages & hours that Sears provides.  So why would these unhappy people really care about the consumers when the company doesn't care about them?

In order to treat customers good the employees themselves must be treated well.  After all, employees are INTERNAL CUSTOMERS.  If they're not happy it will show when we, the consumers, go into the stores.

Give them raises.  Give more hours.  Show them that the corporation cares about them.  Then maybe, just maybe, they'll stop complaining long enough to help customers out.

I don't work at Sears but from what I read and see it seems like morale is going up about how customers feel about Sears n Kmart...

So, all the cleaning and tossing of store stuff was worth-it, then?

Great!

Hello

AdamO

Are you required to print your own signs in your store or does someone else do it as if you sales consultant you should be on the sales floor selling not making signs, correct?

Print my own signs?

With Sears's Sign Riter?

Not, likely.

I do my best to keep "old" Sale signs from remaining posted around the floor.

Although, if Sears would like to invest in either Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw, I'd be happy to give some "custom" signs a whirl.

I used to do Technical Illustration and Graphic Arts/Design work.

LOL!

The Sign Riter printer is "down" again.

I didn't have to print my own signs.

But, the cashier was kind enough to get out a "magic marker" to right-up some signs...

The good news: We had the paper!

Although the miracle of technology is still having problems, the paper it uses works right good with them magic marker deals.

No problemo...

Management ordered it.

:)

And...

Today there is going to be another inspection.

Maybe the Sign Riter software/hardware will get fixed, now?

I'm think'n either Chocolate chip cookies or Piza would really raise morale.

The clothes handling people have GOT to wash their hands right after the food, though.

Especially now that Sears is collecting used clothing to give out to less fortunate folks. Used clothing is less clean than brand new stuff.

Oh, you meant not to get the CLOTHING all grungy with food stains!

Peanut Butter crackers, available in the Vending machines would be nice.

Of course, I'll pay for mine...

I know what you mean.

I've got "allergies" and boy do they "kick-up" on truck days!

"We got 4 carts for ya!"

Bring-it! We're... I'm ready.

We got another VP-level inspection coming...

That should definitely do something to morale.

Hey...

Buy some Halloween bags of Hershey's chocolate.

And, right before the inspection, give everyone a piece of chocolate!

Would work for me...

"What's he smiling about?"

'Don't ask. Keep walking. Don't make direct eye contact. And, DON'T ask him any questions about TOOLS!'

All hands meeting, at 7 in the morning, with less than a week's notice, on a Sunday...

Wee..!

Can you FEEL that morale building?
