I joined as a sears associate with hopes of seeing changes which I and others have suggested-many people share same vision, but leaders are just not listening. So far, don't seem to see any results as per what searstruth person suggests. Which is where he/she was coming from. It could very easily be 'phony' or a marketing tool. But hopefully, good results will come of it. I think site looks great because it does not 'look' like a sears or a kmart. Stores need to be updated and caught up with 2008.

Thanks for your comments about our site! We're planning on adding features to make it even better.

One of the great things about this site is that it's a communication channel to the teams here. But, please remember that realistically, some changes can't happen overnight.

I've got an idea, how 'bout "corporate" stops lining their own pockets so heavily, and actually put money into the infrastructure, and maybe give associates more than a hair over minimum wage?

Umm...

I'm real.

I saw a "Viewpoints" copyright.

Some of these posts seem "pretty worked up" to NOT be real.

There are plenty of upset Customers here.

Some satisfied Customers have taken the time to post.

You don't think having employees, at all levels, involved in a problem resolution and discussion site is a good idea?

The review posts still need more volume.

But, that will just take some more time to accumulate more reviews.

Sears Cares is very busy fighter Customer Satisfaction "spot fires".

Seeing overall changes - in the short term, is not going to be too fruitful for many folks, expecting speed boat changes in direction.

I'd stick with the site longer - before passing final judgement.

You have to take everything on the internet with a big grain of salt. Who can blame Sears for marketing their site and products. Personally I like Sears and purchase many clothing, and household items from them. Never had an issues and they even price match which I have taken advantage of.

what jbolo2007 said didn't say anything about a store at all. It's a blanket statement to try to start people talking about it.

Pretty much every Sears store I've been to employs their fair share of senior citizens, and most often they are the ones with the full-time employee positions.

Often times Sears is the job that college kids have and older people who have retired from their careers come to.

Well, what is it, precisely, you're saying? Sears at the corporate offices laid them off? Or, at your store, these people were laid off? Or, at stores near you? That's a very large, ambiguous statement you've made with zero context.

I.e. having only warehouses and employees who pick and ship orders all day. If this is where we are headed, then lets do it and forget about sears, grands, sears essentials, my gofer. Sears is definitely not eliminating brick-and-mortar stores. Appliances are one of the largest profit sources for Sears, and despite the ability to buy appliances online, only about 1% of customers do so. Customers want to kick tires, ask questions, and talk things out with someone knowledgeable. You can't get that from a website.

As for selling Craftsman/Kenmore/Die Hard in non-SHC retailers, that idea has been killed, as it was a horrible idea (now that Eddie Lampert has stopped micromanaging the corporation, the company has gotten back to doing the basics properly). Craftsman/Kenmore/Die Hard will only be available in SHC retail outlets (Sears, Grand/Essentials/Hardware & Appliance, K-Mart, TGI, Hometown).

Another reason why this site is phony trash is because I posted a new discussion stating my opinion on this site....that it is just a marketing ploy for a failing company...only to find out that the entire thread was deleted. There is a line in the survey where you enter your name for the sweeps gift card. Then it specifically says, when you hit sumbit, you are done. Then the ad for this site comes up. its up to you whether or not you wanna enter your info for this site. If you don't wanna be on it... uhhh well then don't be! That simple folks...

I heard that the Sears Grand concept failed and they are not going with it in the future. Pehaps they will covert the store back to a Kmart or Sears in the future once the economy improves. I know this is one of 28 stores that are closing this year alone. With all the empty building Sears owns, it would make sense that could and should reopen and remodel them when the economy improves, at least to me.

I came in here because I was looking for a way to contact Sears. But can't find one. They closed our Kmart 2 years ago and opened a Sears Grand. It is lovely. I like the products and quiet homey atmosphere. Much better that the cheap cold feel of wally world.

But now I heard Sears is closing in 2 months !! Now I have to drive 30+ min to get to another Sears. Why? Can't they just leave it alone.

And as for all you complainers take it somewhere else. You said your piece "it's fake" If you don't like it get out. Or do you just like to be a jerk!

I always appreciate people trying to warn me about false sites, and prompting me to consider elements of a website that suggest that it is. Actually, I wanted to go on record that I really did post the reviews that I did on Sears and KMart-kmart being awful and Sears being pretty good, in some respects. It was very helpful for me to be able to just read the replies to your post, especially from the moderator, so I don't have to figure out if the site is real. I always enjoy and appreciate consumer reviews from real consumers!

Stores are not going away. Most people just want to walk in somewhere and buy something.

My-gofer is basically just a format for a certain demographic of shopper, the one who loves online shopping and not dealing with people.

Stores bring many things to customers. Informed salespeople, instant gratification, and the ability to see, feel, try on, and maybe even test the product before buying.

This is invaluable to a large majority of shoppers, trust me, stores are going to be around forever. Freaking out about websites taking over everything is just anti-technology hysteria.

Hi hdtech1e - If only making decisions about a company like Sears were that easy...

A lot of retailers are online nowadays but think about how many people we need to serve in a physical format? I don't think we'd abandon them and there's no reason to do so.
