Ordered for xmas gift...paid for expediated shipment 2 days prior to xmas as gift for Mom, who was flying in from OUT OF STATE. Never showed up, called CS, they said due to snow problems a week earlier, items delayed. Well, never saw an update. Call this morning, now says going to arrive on Jan. 14!!!!! Thanks for a ruined xmas Sears!!!!! Call in order and demand a delivery date so they don't ruin a special event...such as xmas day with your Mom!

It sounds like you had a really rough time with this. I'm really sorry for all the frustration we have caused you.

For items that are ordered during season, it is unreasonable to think that you would get the item by Christmas if you ordered it 2 days before that. It takes 1-2 business days to process or "pick" the order at the warehouse and then it is processed with the expedited shipping you have ordered. The website shows the following information:

"When will it arrive? The anticipated arrival date is reflected on the shipping options page during checkout. Shipping times vary by location."

I'm really sorry that you did not receive the item in time for your mother. If there is anything we can do, please give us a call so that we may try to correct the situation for you.

In response to Payback709's post from December 29 2009 10:08AM

I appreciate the response, but the website said specifically that if I paid EXTRA $, it would be delivered by the 23rd. So that's what I did, I paid EXTRA money to get it there on time. It is not my fault when a website says one thing and wants you to pay more money to make it happen, then not only does it not happen, they couldn't even give me a delivery time. Then, I don't even get an update, so I have to call back to get someone to tell me what is going on, then find out it isn't going to arrive until Jan 14? You got to be kidding me if you think this is even remotely close to a good ONLINE business practices. I work in the online ecommerce world and transact over $26 million dollars a day in sales and I can guarantee you that we don't allow this type of thing to happen.

Correct. I agree with you on if it says a date then it should be delivered by that date, especially if you pay more.

From my understanding, that was a website error as far as the projections go on the delivery time frames.

Regardless, it would still be unreasonable to think that any company, yours or anyone elses, with that size of inventory could pick the order, pack it, get a tracking number and have it to you in two days.

I wish there were more we can do. What we normally do in situations like these is to offer the credit back for the shipping since you did not receive on the date notified and maybe 10% off the item. I would definitely call our customer service team and express your feelings on the situation and see if they will do that for you. :)
