press and seal

My plain vanilla press/seal food storage appliance just went south after many years. I have spent HOURS on-line looking for a replacement, but all I can find is expensive vacuum storage appliances, which I don't want and can't afford.

I just noticed Sears is offering a "hand-held" vacuum storage item less expensively, and wondered if anybody had tried it;
