remove the dispenser drawer look into the housing the drawer goes into. see if something is blocking water from running into the inlet. some times you can't see anything but may feel it with your fingers.

terryf has far more experience than I in these matters and I would therefore take anything he advises way before anything I may suggest. That being said until he makes a further post I would suggest that you take the top of your Frigidaire built machine and see if you can observe where the leak may be originating from. I would pay particular attention to te detergent dispenser and any pipes/tubing etc conected to it.

Good Luck

I changed the bellows & the leak remains. Last night it looked like it may be coming from the soap tray, leaking down the left (hinge) side of the door, then exiting the bottom left. We don't use bleach very often. Any ideas how to fix it?

Got it Terry! So anything that could cause a break in the siphon action (air, impurities, etc) could cause water to be left in the dispenser. It is then very important to keep the soap container and cap clean....

The design of this Washer's dispenser is such that if you are using powder soap and you pour the powder into the tray it will stay there until water is dispersed into that compartment. The (bowl) is for liquid only, and it will contain liquid soap until the washer calls for dispensing. the round cap that covers the stand pipe is so that a siphon can be started resulting in siphoning the contents up the stand pipe and into the dispenser. You can test this yourself. put a colored liquid into the bowl, then pour a small amount of water into the bowl. stop pouring and watch. the remaining liquid should be sucked out, with a small trace remaining. remove and clean the bowl and inside of the cap on a regular basis. Liquid soap can settle as it sits, the thicker stuf will collect at the bottom. you might shake the container to keep the contents equally distributed. check that when the cap is on it does not form any seal to the bowl.

The bellows seal should be cleaned regularly, if hard water deposits are left they will harden the rubber and cause it to crack and age prematurely. The soap and bleach enters at the top left of the washer you may be using to muck bleach and causing problems to the seal. pouring bleach on a car tire is an old trick when stuck on ice. it will soften the tire and make the surface sticky, I think car racers will also pour bleach to make their tire more sticky.

Other than a torn or folded/creased boot, what can cause a front loading washing machine door to leak? It leaks a lot, mostly on the lower left, hinge side. The boot has not tears or folds that I can find. It has leaked a little for several weeks but now leaks a lot; too much for us to use the machine. Thank you.

It may be a component gets hot with prolonged use, but will not cause any trouble when you use it less. post a complete model number three numbers a decimal point followed by several lteers and numbers. There my be stored error codes that can tell you what is wrong. Each model has a different method to enter diagnostic.

Good point Terry.

In the model 49032 you take the liquid dispenser totally out when using powder. We have only been using liquid soap since we bought the unit. Most of the time the compartment is free of water; every 10th wash or so, we find the container full of water at end of wash cycle; strange mystery.....

On some brands there is a divider that you place one way when you are using powder, and you rotate the divider around for when you are using liquid, you should probably re-read the owner's manual. To be sure you are using the dispenser correctly.
