How about that old peg game, where the young'n pounds the wood stakes down flat into the holes, and mom or dad flips the thing over for them to do it all over again?

Now, THAT was educational.

Probably saved some bruised fingers, later, when the "nails" were attempted.

Taught all my kids to play chess. The "mentally challenged" one required extra training so she now goes after the opponent's queen....surprisingly successfully.

I love simple board games like monopoly and axis and allies...problem is a lot of them take forever to set up and calculate.

I have so much fun playing monopoly every time except when I have to be banker because then it's almost like work...same with setting up axis and allies.

I saw a kid "playing the heck" out of the store display one.

He was "kicking" it too.

Nice round-house style kicks, too.

Robotron 2084 was probably my all time favorite classic.

Twenty years later, still haven't "flipped" it, I usually make it to the third prison that has the children, and the Brain characters, and that's about 15 boards in...

What are board games, haha you can still find those that aren't a digital version for a console or handheld. Interactive gaming wins hands down, the amount of diverse content that you can get from todays video games is what makes it now the largest entertainment business.

I am involved in both worlds. I have two kids who love the electronic world and nothing is wrong with that unless they are unsupervised and their activities unregulated. Here is the problem. Although you can interact with friends and others from all over the world with many of the new electronic games, the social interaction and the understanding of the powerful but slow evolution of events and processes that drive this world can only come through the old school and with the wise use of technology. Even though I involve my kids in a lot of the "old school activities", they are still hesitant to let go of the tech games. My best advice is to hold on to both worlds and find a workable compromise.

I wasn't so hot at that one. I'd always miss the ball on the way back down. The best was when you could get it up top and just let it bounce around and go to town. Easy win.

Remember it? I still have it. And they still make it. I think Its Flight simulator X is the newest one if Im not mistaken. I havn't missed a new version, they're getting pretty realistic.
