AssureLink Gateway - not connecting to internet

I'm trying to install my new AssureLink Gateway, and it is not connecting to internet:
The green link light flashes briefly on start-up, but does not stay on, indicating it has not made a connection. The blue light is on.

I've logged into my ethernet router and confirmed it sees the gateway and has assigned it an IP address. When I am on the AssureLink website I get the following error message: "The gateway is not responding. Please check the power and Ethernet cable connections."

I've tried changing ethernet cables, power-cycling the gateway, and pressing the 'soft reset' button. None have worked.

Any suggestions?

Looking for either the GTO RB-709 universal rerceiver wiring to the Sears garage door opener or a description of the RED-WHT-WHT-GRAY terminals on the Sears 139.53990DDS unit. Only description I've seen for the Sears unit Is Red-Terminal 1, WHT-Terminal 2, GRAY-Terminal 3 or something like that.

I have two Garage door openers and a Sliding gate and I want to be able to use only 1 remote for all three. Pashaps Sears has a universal 315MHz receiver?

That's one of those ideas where you smack your head for not thinking of it yourself. Great suggestion -- the new opener is a 'better' model (with the battery backup) but I'll bet the signals coming out of the wall control are the same. Regardless, it's easy to try and can't hurt... Thanks!

If the controllers are the same, an easy diagnostic test is to take the known good one and switch it with the one in question. You will then know if the problem is in the controler or something else is wrong with the opener.

Thanks for the quick response. I was hopeful because I hadn't tried that before -- light even went out then back on after 10 seconds just as you mentioned....but once it went off after the auto 4.5 mins it still doesn't come on automatically.

I'm thinking I might have a bad controller on that unit. Recently bought another craftsman gdo for a different door and the motion detector worked like a charm right from the start. That's what prompted me to post my questions -- thought it would be nice to have both working.

But thanks for the suggestion.

The manual says to activate the motion detector feature, start with the opener lights "on",press and hold the "light" button for ten seconds, the lights will go out, then on again.Never seen it myself, just quoting the manual.

This normally indicates a problem with the photo cell sensors. The reasoning is that the sensors are taken out of the circuit in "open" mode.

You may not need to replace the springs; you may be able to adjust the tension. This is done either by shortening the cable length, or depending on how the springs are attached you may be able to adjust them by tightening a nut on the mounting.

There is some serious power in the springs, and if you do not know what you are doing, you can cause yourself serious injury. If you are unsure, this is one time when DIY is not a good idea.

Unless the spring is broken the only way to tell is the weight of the door. If the door seems a little heavy to you it is heavy for the opener.

how do you tell a bad spring from a good spring? would it be stretched out? the door opens ok but does seem a little heavy opening by hand.

I would really be concerned about the weight of the door. It sounds as if you may have bad springs or even one that is broken. You can release the door from the opener and try operating it by hand. Should give you an idea.
