When the power is off or disconnected on such a device, turn it on to cause any residual power to be used, allowing the comtrols to be reset. This drains any capacitors

Try starting a Clean cycle, wait a couple of minutes, then hit Stop/Clear. Sometimes this will cycle the door lock motor back into position.

Corian counter top hey! We got a granite top in our kitchen. Corian is so awsome to rip in half because it turns to feathers unlike a heavy rock. I'm not sure how in the world such a top could break and not be sanded down with a crack filled. I use to help install tops (horrible job) but never clamped down on a cooktop to crack the counter before the glass.

On August 18th, Sears tried to install a new cooktop. They broke my Corian Countertop and failed to complete the installation.
Sears cancelled on me three times. Finally did come. I hired them to put in a new HVAC unit, and well the contractors they sent put holes in my basement walls. I tried to call and get some to fix it to no avail. Sears doesnt care.. It has been since may and my basement still looks like crap. When I do get a hold of people, all I get is the run around. I should have known better after they couldn't keep even an appoinment for me to business with them. GOOD LUCK!!! although I wouldn't hire them if I were you!

Sears canceled my appliane appointment for today and rescheduled for tomorrow. Problem? I changed my schedule so I could be home today and tomorrow is an issue. Asked Sears to see if I could be at the front of the list for tomorrow (so I make sure someone is home) not a chance. Told this is not possible & to wait until the schedule is released. What a joke. Sears can cancel and not adjust their schedule for mine - but I have to be home to accomodate them. No customer consideration.

Poor Service

We bought our new appliance from our local Sears store, and have now learned that a repairman only comes to our area once a week. Beware- just because there is a store in your area, doesn't mean that service is readily available.

Our GE Profile Refrigerator stopped cooling 2 months after the warranty expired. We have now been without a refrigerator for 10 days, and Sears service can't get here until June 7th, 2 more weeks. Of course the first technician they sent out replaced $470.60 worth of parts, then left saying it will take 24 hours for the refrigerator to cool, and the refrigerator still isn't cooling. When Sears told us they couldn't get another tech out until June 7th, we told them we would call another (local) GE repairman, and wanted our total of $670.60 refunded. They said they would refund our money as soon as one of their technicians came out to verify that the repair didn't work. Of course, that technician cannot make it here for 2 more weeks...

Very dissatisfied with the situation!!!

I just installed a new belt drive door opener. Here is what I found. If the "Eye " on the left is not RED and the Eye on the right is not Green then your not lined up. so this prevents the saftey not to work.
