What Are The Advantages and Drawbacks of The KidVantage Program

Hi Villageanne,

The program is free to join. We are looking to enhance the program in the next couple of months. The current benefits of the program are as follows:

When you accumulate $100 in Kid’s apparel and footwear purchases, you will receive a 15% off coupon that can be used towards your next Kid’s purchase.

The other benefit is if your child wears out the item you purchased BEFORE they outgrow the item, we will replace with a like/similar item in the same size.

Do you have to have a receipt to trade in a worn out article of clothing?

You should return the item with a receipt. If you are a Shop Your Way Rewards member and elected an e-receipt for the transaction the store will be able to look up the item for the customer.

How long do you have from purchase to trade in an article of clothing?

You have our normal return policy of 90 days.

Is it worth the hassle or is it cheaper and easier to just shop thrift stores?

While we would strongly encourage you to shop with Sears as we have a great selection for Kids, this is a decision that you ultimately have to decide.

Is there a size limit to the clothing that is eligible for the KidVantage program? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Kid’s Clothing sizes are as follows:

Girls size 16 and Boys size 20

Kid’s Shoes are as follows:

Girls size 4 and Boys size 6

You must have a receipt for branded jeans like levis or lee. Otherwise, it has to be sears items like canyon river blues. Brands we dont carry like granimals would not be included because it is not a sears item. Though having the receipt helps. Sizes are for kids clothes and shoes only. It is for the same item in the same size so if your grandchild is wearing a 7 you can only exchange for a 7 you cannot get the next size up. And like i already said it is for kids sizes ONLY. So if your grandchild wears adult size shoes, junior or young mens clothing regardless of age it is NOT covered.

I have four Grand-kids and they are tough on clothes. We have been purchasing clothes at thrift stores because they wear them out so fast. What are the regulations for doing the KidVantage?

Do you have to have a receipt to trade in a worn out article of clothing?

How long do you have from purchase to trade in an article of clothing?

Is it worth the hassle or is it cheaper and easier to just shop thrift stores?

Is there a size limit to the clothing that is eligible for the KidVantage program?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I was wondering if the Kidvantage wearout guarantee goes for hosiery and underwear. My husband said he ran into something on Canada's Sears site saying that hosiery and underwear were excluded from the guarantee, but I don't see anything like that on Sears' regular Kidvantage site. Is that just something in Canada, or is that the case for Sears purchases in the U.S.?

Just so long as the item is a Sears brand like Canyon River you dont have to have a reciept which gives them no proof that you have already exchanged the item previously. Now if it is an item with a brand like levis or converse then you will need a reciept proving that you bought it there. But I myself have never heard of a numbered amount of times you can exchange anything or any brand.

I would assume one of the reasons you have to go into the store is because kidvantage is a wear out guarantee, when your childs clothes are torn or worn out you bring them into the store for an exchange. They send you home with the new item, so long as it is the same size and style. why you have not gotten your %15 coupons, is a mystery. If you give Sears your phone number it could be for the rewards program. Also no matter what club you are interested in being a part of, if you are IN-store and you give the cashier your telephone number and you are not already in that club, the computer will prompt the cashier saying that you are not found and would you like to sign up.

Wondering exactally how this wear out program works.. I understand you can exchange kids clothes and shoes for the same size brand style.. but is there a limit on how many times you can exchange them.. In other words is the guarntee only valid on the orginal item purchased??
