Going "Green" Lawn Care, It's Not What You Think

I've noticed in our community more and more people are cutting their less frequently or not cutting them at all. Sure I'll not take anything away from Sears and their lawn movers. But Going green is not just cutting your lawn less. Its an attitude towards how your lawn should be and look..

Going green today could mean recycling or reusing.. but what about landscaping?.. In an attempt to reduce the amount of lawn cutting we are doing. I've been taking it upon myself to create a lawn out of donated or thrown away lumber, landscaping timbers and even (in some cases) discarded plants. Thus creating a "maintenance free" lawn and reducing our usage and need for gas and electricity.

There are a number of homes in our area which are for sale but because of the homes beside them which have not cut their grass or maintain their yards in several weeks, I doubt these homes will be sold any time soon. So going green can mean not cutting your lawn.. But it should mean.. going maintenance free green instead.

New Facebook Wiki Created: Recycle & Reuse

Hoping soon we can continue with our latest project. I've been given or lumber and scraps of have been donated by a number of friends. to create an out door living space for my wife and my self. Nothing fancy and sort of fly by the seat of our pants at the moment.

Here is what we look forward to. (dreaming) I'm creating a "floating" deck with some scrap wood the dimensions are about 10' x 10' with a square opening in the center. Within this square, we are going to place "contained" bamboo plants then around the plants, Blue/Green glass and a few large rocks to create a small oasis looking pond within the floating deck.

I hope that maybe by this time next year I'll be able to post some images of the progress.

Got Face?. Here is a prelude to what we've been doing in the yard: (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=355998&id=100000367311283&ref=fbx_album)

Use the model number under the seat to check the manual's specs at Sears ManageMyLife. Or Youtube will have videos of Tractor engine tuneups. Good Luck.

I am disappointed that the garden cart wheels break after only a year or two. The cart was easy to use but this year when I went to use it found the wheel broken. After seeing other reviews I realized I was not alone. To replace the wheel would cost over $30 for one wheel when the whole cart only cost me a little more than that. Seems to me the wheels shouldn't cost almost as much as the cart. Sears should be able to do better than this.
