This came about sort of accidentally, I was taking of some of our indoor plants, when I noticed the dead peace lilly bloom.. and thought what could I do to make the blooms (the white stem) last longer.. and of course noticing that the blooms would open and the pods would release their seeds.. and of course the seeds would go everywhere.. I was taking a chance cutting the seed pod out of the bloom.. and it worked.. the blooms last 4 times longer and the stem becomes a permanent "leaf" to the peace lilly afterward. Yes, I've inhered many of me "Green Thumb" traits from my father. I can't say I've concurred all plants.. but some have just been around allot longer then others Indoors and out.

After one week of waiting, The Peace Lilly is just about ready to open. At this point gently pull back the white flower covering from the seed pod. Next, take a pair of scissors and cut the seed pod away from the flowing petal. Burry the seed pod back into the plants potting soil. Gently turn back the white flower petal. The Blooms white color will last for weeks. Afterward the petal will still be around. So stop suffering with "dead" petals or blooms.
