Sears Scottsdale Pine Slim Pre-lit Multicolor Christmas Tree

I cannot figure out how to get the 3 sections plugged in correctly to light the whole tree. I have apparently lost the instructions. Is it possible the whole top section is broken and doesn't light up any more? This would only be the 2nd year I have had this tree.

I have a old Kenmore sewing machine of my grandmothers that I would like to give to my niece, who is just learning to sew. The only problem is I don't have the owners manual for it. Where do I go to get a copy or how do I download it. So far, all I find it that when I enter the model number into search for it, the reply tells me it is now a valid model number. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Thanks,

There is a 6 foot cloth covered cord on ebay.com that might be similar, here is the link:
