Kenmore Elite model 80093 over the range microwave stopped working

My Kenmore micromave from Sears just went out! I am SO disappointed with Sears and their customer service. We purchased ALL brand new kitchen appliances and a washer and dryer less than 2 years ago. We are now on our second dryer...our fridge went out (it was $400 to fix) and now our microwave just went too. This is CRAZY! 3 out of 6 appliances should not go out in less than 2 years. We have no kids, barely cook or use our appliances and we are so careful and take such good care of our stuff. Sears has been a nightmare and we will NEVER buy from them again. Everyone BEWARE!!

Thanks. I will not try to repair myself. Called local repair and they also want $129 plus parts to repair. This something I would be willing to consider if the microwave was older but a year old seems unacceptable.

I don't know how to file a lemon report. I am going to try to contract someone other than the warranty department all they want to do is charge a $299 plus parts. I can but a new one for that amount. I do not think I should pay to have to one repair the unit seems like it is a defeat. I am really disappointed with Sears always thought their products were the best. I hope I didn’t just waste $400 I will never purchase another Sears product.

Hi Powhatan, and ihambleton;

If the microwave is still under warranty, you both should have the microwave repaired under warranty, if not then have it diagnosed by a licensed repair shop. Microwaves have high voltage capacitors inside the case which retain power even when unplugged, so do not try to fix it yourself!

Same situation just happened to me with my Kenmore Microwave and it's only 1 and 3 months old (plus, I hardly use it). It just went completely dead. Where can I file a "lemon" report of Sear's product. Does any one know if this is a defective product. 'Cause is starting to sound like it.

My Kenmore Elite over the range microwave stopped working. Absolutely no power at all and tried to plug it in to different outlets and extension cords with no results. Tried resetting circuit breaker on main circuit breaker panel for house and on each outlet with no results. I have had the unit about a year not sure what happened never had problems with a mircowave before.

our kenmore is beeping at me and it has a -SE- on the display screen. none of the buttons work, i tried to unplug it to reset it and it did not work. i have no idea what caused it. it was just like that when i woke up this morning. called sears and they said that my warranty was expired. i would rather try to see if anyone here knows what that means and how to fix it before we have to pay someone to come out. thanks

Even with the Vent operating in Level 2, a minisculr air flow exists across a clean grease filter.

I am thinking about buying the GE spacemaker JVM2052SNSS with the controls on the bottom part of the door. I have found a few neg reviews on this and that is it. Just wondering if that is a major problem with controls on the door with this model

I'd appreciate any review of microwave convection over the range oven. I'm looking at a Jenn Air 30", GE Profile, cafe series, Advantium, but would love to know things like how long they take to heat when using the convection - how noisy are the fans? And I'd love to find a less expensive one that is really good! Thanks for your help.

I dont know what model you are looking at (theres more than one 30" stainless microhood) and I can't fairly speak for every single model there is; but I will tell you that all the ones I have seen that can be vented to the outside come equipped with a damper and instructions on how to use it.

I' will be installing a OTR Microwave (Kenmore Stainless 30 in. Microhood Combination). The vent will go through the cabinet above the microwave and then in the ceiling to the through-the-wall vent. Do I need to install a damper in the cabinet (right above the microwave)?
