installation

I install pools for a living. Have never installed one of these cheaper softsided pools but, there are a couple things that are basic to any pool. First, the location where the pool will sit has to be leveled. This can lead to quite a bit of soil being removed. You cannot level it by adding soil or sand to raise one side to the level of the other, the water weight would make that settle and much of the soil would push out from underneath resulting in the pool being off level and under stress. The ground must be taken down from the high side to the low side. Then, the area should have 1 1/2 to 2 inches of fine sand, preferably mason sand, spread out to set the pool on (this protects the pool from any small stones, twigs, roots etc.). I hope this helps. Bruce

Agree with early post - cinder blocks are the way to go for adults of any dimension to safely and reliably access the pool. Over time and with use by kids, the ladders are problematic for any adult. Recommend applying either sandpaper tape or rubber door mats to the blocks to ensure safe footing not only for adults, but kids in motion as well.

Well I bought the Intex 24 ft pool just 3 wks ago and am having lots of problems. The cover from the pool keeps coming off and going into the pool, the pump beeps every 5 minutes (even after we go through the ritual of checking every part of the pump), the ladder is very weak and pool metal pipes seems like it's about to collaspe. I spent alot of money on the salt and filling the pool up w/ water (of course) after trying to enjoy it only 3 times. Now I have to get someone to help me empty and clean it out to be returned. I'm very bummed about it.

I know exactly what you're talking about! Adults need fun too!!! Obviously Intex didn't consider us when they were designing their ladders. I'm certainly not overweight. I'm 5'10 and weigh 160, but STILL I have to put 3 cement bricks on each end of the ladder inside and outside of the pool to be able to comfortably climb it without the opposite side coming up or it feeling unsturdy. We shouldn't have to do that! And the steps are so narrow, it's VERY aggravating getting in and out of the pool. I also have problems with leaks!!! Seems like every time I patch one, the patch either comes off, or another leak happens! We have not gotten much use out of our pool, needless to say! I also can't find the AGP rough cut patches ANYWHERE!!! Come on Intex. You can do better than that!

i think when you buy the pool off the internet theres an option where you can pick if you want a sears worker to come out and install the pool for you. i know kmart has that option in there pool section & checkout. and there pools are a little bit cheaper.

my intex pool ring has pinholes(from a cat). i've tried multiple vynyl patch kits, they work for a few weeks then let go i think from the sun & heat. has anyone had this problem? does anyone know of anything that acually works? i might try tire patches. but will they hold to vynyl? deflated

For example the price comes up as $NaN on the product page which means there is a price error on the product page. You would think someone at sears would have been able to help or at least correct the problem on the site (since they admit there is one) with all the pools with this problem. They are only losing customers because of this. Like I said, had I ordered it last night everything was working fine. I just too tired, and since the sale did not yet end, I was waiting until the morning.
