Well, yes and no. We can plug an OBD (On Board Diagnostic) tool into your car's computer and read what code is causing your light to come on. Then depending on what that is, we may or may not be able to repair the problem. Depends on what it is and what that store's mechanics are capable of doing.

Sometimes it's something simple like a bad gas cap. Other times it might require a complete engine tear-down. But we should at least be able to point you in the right direction.

I'd also recommend a full steering/suspension evaluation by one of our mechanics as well. That way we can let you know if any other parts should be on your radar or not.

There's a simple way to check for a tire-pull as opposed to an alignment pull in your truck. Switch the front tires from left to right and take a test-drive. If the pull is in the same direction, then it wasn't your tires. If it goes the opposite way, then it WAS your tires. If it goes straight....well...that's what you wanted, right??

In any event, it will either confirm or eliminate the tires as your problem.

If you look at the top of this web page(on the right hand side) there is a link that says "find a store". When you click on that, you can enter your zip code, hit enter and get the location and contact number for all the stores in your area. It will have the auto centers near you listed as well. You can give the auto center closest to you a call and they can give you detailed information as to what thier services are. To the best of my knowledge, Sears auto centers are full service centers and do provide that type of service.

Yes, we do ball joints and we can do it same day without appointment. But, as far as carry in parts, we do not install carry-in parts.

I only need one replaced, just wondering if they do them. I know it would get done a lot faster than if I brought the car to a garage near me. Had one replaced about 2 weeks ago, was told that the other was fine so I left it. Its going bad now. Also I have the uninstalled ball joint in my car right now ready to be installed. Thanks.

Great question. I think the main thing to consider here or the best thing to do first off, is goto your local Sear Auto Center and ask the tech rep or manager of the shop. I would have to say this could be done at any sears, but its best to check with them first.

Our local Sears was even willing to install a lift kit on our 07 commander. So it would seem its totally up to the Sears. The job sound like something any shop can handle as long as the parts being replaced are not under any type of warranty direct from Jeep. In that case it would need to be replaced by jeep themselves.

Sears should be able to give you a accurate price quote. I would recommend taking the car there for a front end evaluation first and let them tell you what the car needs as far as struts, mounts, bearing plates and anything else the car needs in the steering and suspension. thanks

blah blah blah. Dude, if the alignment shop really said it was your tires, and nothing else, then maybe get another expert to look at your truck. If a lower ball joint is worn out it will, at a minimum, wear the edge or edges of a tire. And if too worn I think it will cause a pull. Do some research on explorerforum.com. Info applies to Rangers. Good luck.
