The California Sheds website has some good information on it.

You should contact your local, and county building department and ask them. If you live in a subdivision you should run a copy of the subdivision plat so you can read any special requirements like architectural requirements, if they are allowed, and how far off the road they have to be. Make sure it is placed on your property and all requirements are met.

Also look up your state's website and find out who to contact there. Some states require licenses for contractors.

Something like that happened to my dad, he filed it under homeowner's and was able to replace the building minus his deductable.

Not sure if that applies to your situation though...

madgolfer, thanks, I could not remember the name, "Arrow"! They have been supplying sears storage bldgs. for many years. I never knew, but just out of curiosity, wonder if Sears owns controlling stock in Arrow?

Then again, if they are the same width, you could just go to your local builders supply whse. and buy regular galvanized roofing. There is a business in our town that makes up roofing from flat stock, similar to the way they make seamless gutters, galv. or painted and any length you need. Something to consider.

I remember ordering panels for buildings.You have to have the model number.And they were expensive vis a vis the price of the building,mostly because they have to be packed so they can ship flat.(This usually involves building a crate,just putting it between cardboard is not going to get it to you uncrunched).But ya,if the shed is not too old,you can probly order it at searspartsdirect.com.I would be prepared to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Ah, The best laid plans of mice and men, right? If it is a Sears building and not over two or thee years old, they should be able to help get parts. If it is older than that, risky, but worth a try. Unless they have standardized storage buildings in the past few years, they change specs on the darned things frequently, and the factory has such high demand that it used to take 4ever to get a part. good luck. Maybe someone else can offer a more optomistic solution.

Pavers are easier than concrete but will cost more. I am buying the same shed and will either use 3 80 lb. sacks of concrete (about $15 with tax)or pavers which will bet are 12" x4"x 1" thick will cost about $1.50 each. I will need abut 36f them. You can do the math.

why buy a prefab building? you still have to build it, it does not come with paint,shingles or anything. by the time you get the building they send you built you could have went to lows or homedepo and bought the building mat and built it the same way for 25% of the price....... COST for building a 11,000 dollar building.... Lows = 1800 dollars....
