Moved in to a house with jenn air electric slide in range. After an electrical storm one of the elements (controlled two of the four cooking tops) went. The repairman came and said replacing that piece would be $700.00 and went on to say he has problems with jenn air all the time. We will replace this when we re-do the kitchen, but with ANYTHING but a jenn air. That company seems to be riding high with its past reputation, not with its present day products. Hope this isn't too late!!

the belives are subject to discussion, i get that, your right to belive what ever you want, is not, and remember while i wont agree to your believes i would fight for your right to believe in those. and also nobody can or have the right to force an idea or believe in you.

BlueCrewGuy,

It is hard to believe you represent Sears. Your comments are a bit disappointing. Your particular slant of beliefs seems obvious, or you were careless in your examples. You seem to fail to recognize your own unquestionable beliefs, perhaps because you don't call them religion, and feel perhaps a bit self justified. Or perhaps your own beliefs are a crock, and it is time for you to wake up and do whatever... If this was FaceBook or some Yahoo, or eBay group, I might understand your response, I don't care to pay someone to insult me or my beliefs, or pay someone who promotes that activity.. You are mistaken about how to treat the beliefs of others. To degrade someone's beliefs is to degrade them. To discuss someone's beliefs including questions and counter points can be done respectfully. Neither Legolas666's approach nor your condescending tone represent the respect due a fellow human. And your tone is in no way consistent with a retailer that should be concerned about providing the best service and value to their customers.

The proper response to Legolas666's inapproiate rude and off topic comment is to delete it. Moreover, you should save your personal feelings about the beliefes of others for FaceBook where you can be blocked, rather than prompting Sears' customers to go elsewhere to avoid you.

Have fun...

Sabbath Mode?

To play devil's advocate, we should all respect others, but there is little to no reason to respect what others believe.

If I believe in the supremacy of the pure white race, would you feel compelled to respect what I believe? What if I believed that anyone who leaves my religion should be put to death? Does that merit respect? What if I believed that the government implanted a microchip in the base of my skull and is monitoring my activity because I've been repeatedly abducted by aliens and am part of a secret alien/government conspiracy to interbreed the aliens with humans? Would you respect that?

Beliefs don't merit respect because they're beliefs, or even because they're beliefs that one holds dear, because beliefs are ultimately just ideas, and ideas are subject to scrutiny. There's a distinct difference between the person's beliefs and the person. One's decisions regarding which car to drive, which food to eat, which team to cheer for, which town to live in...all of these are open to criticism and the motives for them are open to skepticism. What is it about the decision to participate in a particular religion that sets it apart from all other decisions?

I realize most people don't think too terribly much about such things. The unquestionable nature of religion is taken for granted by most. But, questions are the only things that allow knowledge to grow. The pursuit of knowledge is the ultimate expression of humanity. Perhaps the drive to learn, to collect the greatest possible quantity of information about our surroundings and ourselves, is what truly makes us human.

Legolas666, which is more superstitious God or Satan? And you blaspheme J. R. R. Tolkien by using Legolas as your screen name. Tolkien, who was a devout Catholic, and led one of the world's greatest Christian apologists to the Lord, namely C. S .Lewis, would be appalled by your attitude.

Why is that it endangers human civilization? you know that currently some of the most renamed fisics engeneers work for the Vatican, that Jew scientists made posible advances on computer science, that some of the best genetists are muslims, so i really dont think religion would make any threat on human civilization, nor science, for that you need a human been.

so please keep an open mind, respect others and what they belive.

I have been locked head to head with KitchenAid for an electric stove that turned itself on last year and burned out the wires. After 2 attempts at fixing th problem and finding that the replacement part for my 3 tiered burner didn't simmer and only worked from medium on up, they had the arrogance to tell me that I'd have to learn to adjust my cooking since they no longer make a replacement part. Cooked on it until 3 weeks ago when the same burner stopped working and now they want me to pay $524 for a replacement stovetop and they are the worst to work with!! Do not buy KitchenAid, JennAir or Whirlpool (all the same company) and expect help if their product is defective. You are on your own and better be persistant to get any help from them.

Ended up going with kitchenaid double, both convection & absolutely so pleased!! Fits in nice and look terrific...good luck!! Actually liked clean lines of Kitchenaid...as much as I love the Bosch, everytime I looked at it, the lines for the bottom oven are a bit lower, so not as "squared" as the Kitchenaid, always looked off! Crazy I know, but just me...also since then I love the food channel & 2 different shows I watch, I realized the Kitchenaid was their oven of choice. I do not go by anything or anyone but what works fro me, but was pleased!!! Best of luck...what a burden!!

Legolas666 - FYI - I am a christian and find it great that an appliance can accommodate so many belief systems - seems to me that you are the only one who has a negative comment or feels threatened - I also have an B.S. degree which made me truly believe in the bible maybe it is you who needs to wake up!

I'm trying to choose between a Kitchen Aid or Jenn Air smooth top electric cooktop with downdraft. Thinking maybe the 36", but 30" might be ok.

Any experience with either Kitchen Aid or Jenn Air electric cooktops?
