Hey Kooler1 sorry to hear that this has become such an issue, though it is true if the part is over 50 we can't send it without contacting a warranty specialist this should have been something that was easily taken care of as long as the warranty showed in the system. Hopefully searscares will get you what you need.

The website doesn't allow warranty purchases but the phone number I've given should be able to take care of the order. I'm sorry to hear your having so much trouble getting this taken care of, maybe a moderator can direct you to searscare?

Hello-

I was told to order the part at www.searspartsdirect.com or call 1-800-366-7278. I called and got transferred around to 5 people and nobody knew how to send a part under warranty to me. I called back and the guy found the vacuum and my address and order. he said I need to talk to warranty. I was sent back to the pay for the part and they transferred me to another department. Nobody knew what to do because the part was over $50. I tried the website I got from a employee on this forum but there was no way to order parts under warranty and the part they wanted to charge me $50.

Anybody know how I can order a part under warranty for a Kenmore vacuum cleaner?

Thanks

wstarc5-

I called the number you gave ne and was passed to 4 people and finally the last person said I do not know if we can send a part out but let me ask. He never came back. I told the person who answered that I needed a part for a vacuum I ordered and received in November 2010. He looked it up and found it but said he needed to transfer me to customer care since the part is over $50. I never found the right department.

I tried to order it online but I could not figure out how to order it under warranty. the website wanted to charge me $50

Any suggestions?

OK, there is a problem with this because when I email Customer service they say they show no vacuum ever going out to me. what happened is that I ordered it online, I received it, and it was the bagged instead of the bag less. So they told me to bring it back to the nearest store, which I did. I think this, since they backed out the full charge and put it on a store receipt with the exchange. so I am not sure why they can't find it with the email addy or phone number or even my name.

Can you tell me id I give you the part number or should I just call? any special hours?

wow, quick service. thanks

I have the Care Guide and it says Model116.31811.

Is the vacuum still under any kind of warranty? I did not purchase the extended warranty, but I am thinking now after using the vacuum, and a few more things not functioning right I should have. there is a Sears Service Center near me. Could I bring it in there and have them look at the other things and see if there is still a warranty? At least it used to be where I think it was but I have not driven by there in awhile.

Kenmore Parts?

Hello- I apologize if this is posted in the wrong area but I did not see much action in any other so I thought I would try here.

I have a Kenmore Upright Vacuum Cleaner that is about 4 months old. It is basically falling apart in many areas. There is one critical part that affects the suction. It is in the Manual under Removing Clogs and is called the "Clean-Out Port Cover." This has a snap type end that allows it to stay in place near the roller. the snap part has snapped off and cannot stay in place. It is vital in keeping suction.

I have the parts list for the vacuum. Does anybody know how I can get this part? I thought one time I came across a page to order parts, but I am now unable to find this page.

Anybody have any suggestions? It would be much appreciated.

Peace-

It's a real stinker getting a Dyson serviced. Years ago when Dyson first became available I was working as a vacuum/sewing machine salesman and we had to assemble them ourselves right there on the floor. They're great vacuums and keep getting better but you're right....the actual support though Dyson for serivicing is next to impossible.

Dysons DC7 though DC17. Parts are almost impossible to get, if you did not register the machine when bought.

Parts when bought from Sears come in complete. And there is no technical support. When this is brought to their attention. Just give you your money back. Which still leaves you with out the parts needed.

The machines are labor intensive, when repairing them. Thus a higher cost to maintaine.

If you live in the deserts of North America. And need to have your machine repaired. It is required to travel hundreds of mile to find a dealer. As Dyson refuses to support or even communicate with a small indipendent service shop.

Some vacuums have an overload protector that will trip if,for example, the brush seizes up.Check your instruction book.Otherwise you could have,as stated above,a bad switch,a bad cord,a broken wire.Kind of hard to tell without being able to look at it.
