You do have the 90Day Satisfaction or Money Back Guarentee - First though, I'd reccomend calling the store to see if they have any quick advice. Then call 1-800-469-4663 which is the service number to have a tech come out. I honestly don't know what the issue may be, wish I had a bit more insight. Call the Store, they should be more than willing to help a valued customer.

It is stll under warranty, call them and let 'them' fix it, or send it back and tell them your want one that works correctly. I believe you will find that there is a 90 day 'satisfaction clause 'in there' somewhere, but it might just have been done away with by now. Good Luck.

Just bought a new Kenmore Elite Washer. When it adds water in the bleach dispenser it seems to just keep filling up and then runs over on to the floor. Had to cut off washer to stop water all over the floor. Anyone else had this problem?

We always found the best way to reduce shaking would be to make sure you install it on a concrete/cement floor.Wooden sub-floors,no matter how dead level,dont do as good a job of damping vibration.

Ensure that the machine is leveled properly. If you are using the extra-high spin speed, you could try bringing it down a notch.

Are you testing the water that is in you washer? Because you will not get hot water unless the washer has a heater in it. The hot setting on most washers is actually lukewarm. Check your manual to see if it gives water temperatures.

I would check for proper connections/voltage at the dryer cord connection at the power block.

Thanks, Terry. I've scheduled to have a tech come out and repair it. I signed up for the $319 1 yr protection plan just to make sure it gets fixed and cover any other issues that might come up over the next year. I figured I was in for the $130 min. tech visit, and not sure they would have sent me the basket to reinstall, vs another tech visit.

When I order the basket it comes complete, the rear shaft is connected, the baffels are installed, If the spider failed I order both the front and rear outer tubs. I have not encountered any problems submiting service orders for repair. with these parts. Sear's knows that on a Whirlpool built Washer the parts warranty provided by the "factory". Sear's is reimbursed for those parts and they get a share in the labor and service to cover their expenses.

Thanks. Terryf, are you saying you replace the basket under warranty when the rear spider has failed?

I don't mind incurring some cost for tech labor, as long as it's reasonable. I just don't want to pay $130 for the visit, only to be told, sorry, the spider is not covered, and you have to buy the whole drum. I will call and schedule today.

I do warranty service and regularly change the basket, it has a lifetime warranty, the outer tub and bearing has a 10 year warranty, you will have to have a Searr's authorized tech. do the work but the parts are covered, front and rear outer tub and basket will probably cost aroud 700.00. the labor should be less than 200.00

You appear to have a pretty reasonable assessment of the situation.

I have not been able to source the spider separately. The best I can offer is that should you post your query through: - http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions?page=1 the 'experts' there may be able to tell you if you have any chance of having the drum and spider replaced under warranty, should you be eleigible for this you will still have to pay the labour costs of a Sears authorized technician. So I spent a good part of Christmas eve pulling our HE3 apart trying to figure out why the stainless drum just started floating off axis, and wearing down the edge of the plastic tub. Turns out the spider on the back of the drum is completely corroded, and broken thru around the shaft bearing.

Is there any way to purchase just the spider?

I was hoping I could bring it to a service center to show them it was broken vs having to schedule (& pay) for a technician to come to the house to confirm - mainly to save time. I was told by the service center they don't handle warranties, and also warned that the spider is not covered under the "limited lifetime warranty" of the drum, despite the fact that you can not purchase the spider separately.

Any ideas? I know this is not an uncommon failure. Seems like a crazy material choice on the spider. We only use HE3 detergent, and my wife is stingy (:)). She typically only uses 1/2 the recommended amount.

I don't want to purchase the entire drum ($329). It seems like if you really put up a stink, you might get the drum replaced under warranty (as it should be), but only after paying a tech to come out, and then going up the chain w/ complaints.

I would rather just order the necessary part for a reasonable cost, and get the washer back into service asap...

Ask your plumber about the possibility of installing a circulating pump and a small point of use tank-type water heater,thereby keeping hot water available at all times.Different tankless manufacturers recommend different ways of doing it,depending on what brand tankless you have it might be addressed in the instruction/installation manual.I know if you go to the Rinnai installation school they teach you how this is done,and you had to go to the school to get certification to be allowed to buy the Rinnai heater.

We have a new (3 weeks) Kenmore Elite washer and dryer and love them. But we also have a tankless hot water heater. Because the washer draws water in short bursts, the tankless heater cycles a lot but the washer never really gets any hot water. So for now, we're doing all cold loads. Wondering if anyone has experience with new high efficiency washers and tankless hot water heaters.
