Hi Experts,

After changing all 3 filters recently, and also the battery supplied with it, the indicator light on the faucet stopped blinking.

This is what I tried and didnt work

1. Kept on pressing the reset button for a min / pressed and released the reset button, I can see green light everytime

2. Kept the water running for additional few hours

3. Open the small section behind the filter system and saw the round wheel was correctly in place

4. Remove and re installed the wire between the faucet and the filter system

Thanks for all your help in advance

Thank you

Pac-Man

R O System slows to a crawl

Greetings!

Expect the regularity of water filter cartridge changes to be influenced by the degree of poor water quality they are expected to be filtering, and that can fluctuate in a home from time to time. My knowledge of an RO system is that they are not complicated mechanical devices and I'd first suspect a clogged filter (or set of filters in an RO system) before I figured there was a design flaw or some other failure. I'm unsure of the design of the storage tank associated with an RO system, but there may be an issue with that as well. The storage tank tubing may be restricted or some other malfunction within the tank that prevents the retaining of reserve RO water

I'd check RO inlet supply and outlet tubing for kinks, check that supply valves are opened fully and keeping in mind that the glass filler faucet can malfunction as well. (I have a spare glass filler faucet to handle a quick change of my own when needed)

Check for all possible external restrictions in water supply (in & out of the RO system) if filter changes do not help.

Remember that looks can be deceiving. A water supply tube can look like it's okay but is water actually flowing through it at a decent rate?

RO systems are inherently slow to recover but your problem seems to be filter related.

Hope this info gets you going again!

Best Regards!

Hi,

You need to check the manual for this unit. Small RO systems produce only a trickle, plus a small stream to drain.

So check the out-put specifications, then measure the trickle into a measuring cup and time it.

I have been following the notes about water softeners. We have an older Kenmore unit which was in the house when we bought 10 years ago. It had not been used for years and we didn't start using it until about 3 years ago after I had Sears out to service and check it over. It has been working well since. Lately we notice the water isn't as "soft". I cleaned the series of filters and gaskets at the top of the unit. Nothing was clogged. Can you tell me the name of the water softener cleaning product you are talking about? Maybe that will help. Thanks.

The resin bed eventually gets clogged after years of neglect. Could be just the venturi screen so it might be worth a service call from Sears if you are not handy, ask service about any current coupons towards a new one.
