Kenmore 9601 Electric Range

I began having issues with my stove about 2 weeks ago. I partially burned our dinner. I began with it on "HI" and later turned it down to about 4-5. After a minute I realized it was still boiling so I pulled the pan off and it was still on "HI" even though I turned it down. So, I turned it completely off and nothing changed. The burner was still stuck on HI. I thought it was just a fluke but now it has happened several times. This is VERY unsafe and a HIGH fire potential. So, I got online to find out how long the warranty lasted. When I searched for the stove a bunch or recall information came up for Kenmore stoves explaining the same issues I was having. One website gave me a phone number to call. I was quickly told that my model wasn't in the group of recalls!

IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THE EXACT PROBLEM??

Sears needs to manup and admit their stoves have problems and fix anyone's stove that is having the same problem.

Kenmore Electric Range broiler won't shut off

Just happened to me. I did a web search and can across these posts. I'm glad I noticed this before leaving my home. What a disaster to have a house fire and lose my pets. I just emailed Sears at the email address listed above but feel compelled to report this to some consumer bureau for safety issues.

Whirlpool Duet dryer not heating

Is it Gas or Electric. some times the gas valve will operate fine for a few cycles then stop working the glow bar will get red hot but the valve will not open to feed the gas. there are two coils on the valve and one is could be intermitent. After electricity flows through one of the solenoids the winding will seperate and the gas valve will no longer work, unless the Dryer sits for several hours then it will heat again. If that is what is happening you can just replace both solenoids. they should come in a kit of two.
