I hear of these problems frequently nowadays. My wife had these problems and both my daughters do also. Years ago many people could not afford much and I believe that they accepted what was available. Now, people are more style conscious, and it can make things difficult for many to get a proper fit.

BigMike, my BIL has the same problem. He is 6'4" and at one time he had to to the local feed mill and weigh on their balance beam scales. There is only one place, and I can't remember the name of the town, about a hundred miles from where he lives that he can find clothing with a proper fit.

Try being a guy who is 6'2 and weights several many hundred pounds. Ever since Thorton Mellon went out of business to go back to school, I have a heck of a time finding things that fit.

I think that is one thing that people tend to forget. Many just assume one size fits all, but I have a long torso. Which makes finding the right length of clothes hard. They either are to short or are ment for larger woman. I just want clothes that flatter my figure but they are nearly impossible to find.

It would be nice to be able to go to a store instead of having to order good cloths online (Woman Within, Romans,ect.).I'm tall and blesses in size and most shirts that you would find at Kmart/Sears and Wal-Mart are to short and they are to wide .Tall people are plus size also and need cloths that would help our figures not make us look like we are having a baby in a few months, and fashionable. Also the Jeans you find in the stores only go to 22 unless you are short or average. There are no choices in style, make, cut.Lane Bryant, and Dress Barn for woman does have these sizes ,but you also have to spend alot of money to get them.I have also talk with woman that are shorter and they are having some of the same problems. We woman are not all one size, and don't all like the same things.I do understand why stores don't carrie more for all types of people.I'm just wondering how many other are having some of the same problems?

I agree, BUT if you look up at your sears dashboard, you will see Land's End. I get my plus size items from their OVERSTOCKS, and I have NEVER been disappointed. And if you look the item up in their regular catalog, and see how much you are saving because they overstocked, well, just sit down and enjoy the feeling

YES, YES, YES....... I do have a problem with top length! I have a few friends who are plus sizes too, and have the same problem. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that 'regular' sized people design tops for us and don't realize how we prefer to wear clothing. I have found some tops at "Catherine's" (a plus sized store) that have longer t-shirts and tops.

Try Kmart. Our local Kmart store seems to carry really nice Plus size clothes. I don't take Plus sizes but there have been a number of occasions when I've been shopping at Kmart and a cute top or pair of slacks caught my eye but when I went to look at it, it was a Plus size and wouldn't fit me.

The same items weren't available in regular sizes so Kmart must buy different lines for their Plus department. Give it a try! I buy a lot of my clothes at Kmart -- they're affordable and last a long time!

Both K-Mart and Sears use to stock them as i own quite a few older ones and it's time to update! Also their "Meant to be Seen" satin tank top style plain satin camisoles that wear so well under a blouse or shirt and were long enough to stay in if wearing a silky skirt!

I emphathize with you totally. I wear a size 18/20 pants and a 22/24 top and it is really hard to find outfits that go together well. I like dresses because if I am lucky enough to find one that I like that fits my upper body, my lower body will definitely fit, as long as the bottom of the dress is suppose to hang loose and not fit your body. Of course, I left the snug fitting clothes long ago. I really have a hard time shopping these days, because it is hard to find clothes that fit and look decent on a larger body.

I think Sears selection and quality has declined since being purchased by k mart. Sears used to be my favorite store to shop, now I just can't seem to find anything there anymore. I think there quality has suffered also, because now it seems they carry cheaper brand clothes with fewer size selections.

OMG! I totally agree with all of you. I'm also looking for a shirt that's just polyester and cotton. WHY is this so hard to find? All men's shirts have this for comfort in the summer. Why would anyone even "want" the hot, stretch material in women's shirts? I sure don't. Thank you for the Alfred Dunner name, livilu. I'll look at those.
