There's nothing like a breath of fresh air, breaking out into the great outdoors and experiencing nature. But who says you can't take the best high-tech gadgets along with you? Of course you need the essentials like food and shelter when you're camping, but here's how to get to know nature in style with the coolest camping supplies around.

GPS Devices
Gone are the days of torn maps and scribbled directions. Now it's all about digital global positioning systems (GPS). When it comes to finding the best GPS, you've got a lot of choices. Full featured GPS Navigation Systems have all the bells and whistles, but a smaller portable GPS Navigation System is better for campers on the go. But why should you upgrade? Beyond the map function, there are tons of useful applications for outdoor explorers. The points of interest option alerts campers to nearby landmarks, traffic reports will let you know if the highways are backed up, and weather reports will warn you if a big storm is blowing in. Want help buying a system? Check out our Buyers Guide for GPS Navigation.

Airbeds:
Sleeping on the ground? No way. Pick up a new airbed and sleep comfortably. How are you supposed to traverse the countryside with a crick in your back, anyway? If you're looking for state-of-the-art comfort, check out a double air mattress or an elevated air mattress. You'll thank yourself in the morning.

Sleeping Bags
Whether you're serious about camping or just enjoy a weekend away with the family, be sure you have latest in sleeping bag technology. It might not seem like much, but the right sleeping bag can make all the difference once the temperature starts to drop.

Tents
Camping is all about getting "away from it all" but what if you want your tent to be your home away from  home? No problem. Just like other camping supplies, tents have gotten the upgrade too. From multiple rooms to unique features, the right camping tent can transform your experience from roughing it to luxury. How exactly? Consider a tent that attaches to the back of your SUV like a makeshift RV. Or what about tent literally in the shape of a home? Check out a full-fledged portable shower and changing room. Not too shabby.

Flashlights
When things start to get spooky out in the woods, make sure you have the best flashlight around. That means more than just your standard AA-battery variety. When you're out in the wilderness, you need reliability in a flashlight, so check out rechargeable flashlights and battery-free flashlights. Want more gizmos on your standard flashlight? Check out flashlights with FM radio. How convenient is that?

We went camping for 5 nights 6 days to baltimore maryland. The purpose of the trip was Washington DC Camping is a great alternative to hotels when you are on a budget with children It was the best but they have a huge tick and chigger problem we were not aware of. Make sure you check out what is going on in the area before leaving. We had alot of fun and saved so much staying in a national park it only cost 80.00 for all 8 of us for the entire time.
