Craftsman 6 Bushel 2 - Bin Hard Bagger for 42" Deck

Craftsman 6 Bushel 2 - Bin Hard Bagger for 42" Deck
mowing the lawn

NOV

2009

First, the hard bagger is the way to go.  It is very durable.  I just used it for the first time to clean up an enormous amount of leaves on over half of an acre.  It worked beautifully.  You need to realize that the bins will fill up quickly if you are picking up alot of leaves.  I had to empty it frequently.  However, when I got to sections that had few leaves it went a while without filling up.  Also, as the other reviews say, you will need to unclog the chute after it fills up.  Make sure the mower is off when you do this, as the blade is exposed at the bottom of the chute!!!  I got...

Craftsman YT 3000 21 HP/46" Yard Tractor

Craftsman YT 3000 21 HP/46" Yard Tractor

I've only used the tractor twice but my initial impression is favorable.  Compared to my older Craftsman tractor, it has plenty of power, cuts level and has a comfortable seat.  The hydrostatic transmission is very nice.  I really like how accurately I can control the speed both backwards and forward.  So far so good.

I was somewhat surprised (and disappointed) with my Sears store.  I bought the tractor as a clearance item and asked that they deliver it to my home.  They said as a clearance item that I'm responsible for getting it delivered.  I was shocked when they said they didn't...

Arnold Snow Thrower Light Kit

Installed the lighht according to instructions. Noted that it was made in China which was my first clue that I was in trouble. Plugged it into the alternator fired up the machine and had light for 3 seconds before the bulb blew. No instructions on how to replace it either. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!

CJR215's review was on point.  Ditto here.  Followed the instructions to the 't' with the same results.   Guess I should have been in the light bulb buiness.  It's time to see how cusotmer service works with finding a new bulb.

Craftsman 18 In. 42CC Gas Chain Saw

Craftsman 18 In. 42CC Gas Chain Saw

NOV

2009

the saw claims "for occasional use only". I bought what I could afford at the time and it paid for itself very quickly. Three years later it still runs. I cut 12 full cords of firewood with it so far. The air filter is not very good and lets fine dust in around it. Rinse carb often and make sure the foam filter seats as well as it can. When you can afford to, buy a Husqvarna as I did. Craftsman is OK but Husky are still the best. As a young man I made a living with them.

Craftsman 30 lb. Wheel Weights
mowing the lawn

NOV

Based on another reviewer, I bought new bolts that I could reverse to remove the wheel to check air pressure, but, would not have to fight with the bolts.  This worls very well, and these 30lb wheel weights should give me the added weight I need for traction this winter.

Craftsman Professional 357 cc 30" 2 Stage Snow Thrower

The first unit that was delivered to my home had a leaking primer line, that was leaking gas. I called in and had it replaced with a new one as the service department wanted to change the carburator. I didn't pay all that money to have them take a new unit apart and change the carb. The second unit they sent me has a broken shute adjuster and will not move the shute position. I called again but now the unit is on backorder and will not arrive until Dec 15th, I hope this one does not have anything wrong with it. BTW I have been a mechanic for 32 years and ASE certified plus many many more so it's...

SnowJoe 622U1 13 AMP 19" Electric Snow Thrower

SnowJoe 622U1 13 AMP 19" Electric Snow Thrower

NOV

2009

I have a small one car driveway and about thirty feet of walkway. I never thought i would want or need a snowblower, but thought i would check the internet to see if there was an inexpensive way to get one. I ran across an add for the snow joe, watched a video on their website and purchased the 622u1 through sears. I am very pleased with the power and the ease of the unit. I would definately recommend it.

Craftsman 6.75 ft./lbs. Torque 4-in-1 Briggs & Stratton Yard Vacuum
HATE raking

NOV
21
2009

Bought one BRAND NEW in 2008, used last year and had trouble starting the last few times I used it ( it has no gas primer pump ). Thinking the gas had gone bad, I drained and refilled the gas tank and carb bowl and cleaned the intake with carb cleaner. Got it started one or two more times but, each time, it would only run a few minutes and then shut off and would not restart. THIS year, fresh gas, new sparkplug, new air filter and even starting fluid and it will not start ( I even tried to bypass the "safety switch" to rule that out ) -- So, I,ve got a BRAND NEW peice of ******** I spent $600 on...

HATE raking

NOV
17
2009

Owned this vac for 4 years and had several problems before the engine died. 1 st. season the screws holding the front "scoop" on vibrated out and were lost. The side bracket holding the hose snapped off at the bolt. 2nd season, the bag sprung holes and spewed leaves and debris right back out. A new bag is well over $100. I sewed mine up which lasted until this season. The front leaver to switch to hose suction would never stay latched making it impossible to to use this feature consistently. Other mechanical parts were breaking off reguarly as time went on. I treated this machine with kid gloves...

HATE raking

NOV

2009

This machine is outstanding! It will reduce your raked leaves by a third or more plus you can mulch up those small btanches that often come of the trees. It turns several hours of raking and bagging into a much less cumbersome task. The vacuum allows you to clean around structure and plants. It may disappoint if the leaves are wet!

Suncast 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 ft. Garden Shed

Suncast 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 ft. Garden Shed

NOV
20
2009

I like the shed but I could be more impressed. The seams did not align well. I probably would not use it for things

that I cared if they got wet. I also do not like the plastic clasp. It will be easily broken especially with the use of a lock.

Otherwise, it has plenty of space and was level enough with supports. Also, it comes in two huge boxes so be prepared to

have it delivered or making two trips to the store.
