After researching today's market of flat panel TVs for a couple of weeks prior to purchasing, I ended up going with Sony. For the past few years since buying my last flat panel, Sony seems to maintain being one of the top 3 sellers. I looked at & read reviews on LG, Sharp, Samsung as well as some others, but Sony always seems to come up on top. BTW, I found that you actually have to read the reviews and not just scan the ratings. Unfortunately it seems that "a lot" of people give negative points based on sound quality. WHAT DOES ANYBODY EXPECT A THIN FLAT PANEL TO SOUND LIKE? Of course it's not...

This was nothing BUT PROBLEMS!!!! Do not waste your money I have had to use my warrenty several times to replace this. It loads slow, it freezes, the buttons dont work sometimes mainly up button, just plain terrible. NO CUSTOMIZATION, impossible to find a firmware update, does not show album art, too much battery usage, nobody sells a sd card for this brand. If you are going to buy a mp3 player buy the "Sansa Fuze" from 'Sandisk'! Also the mini CD that comes w/ this player does not install right and the converter does not work. DO NOT BUY THIS PLAYER!!!!

Had doubts about this tv since the price was so low but I couldn't have been more wrong.  You will have to fine tune the picture so it meets your viewing preference but after that you are good to go.  I originally bought the LG from sears which is about the same price as this one and it didn't quite have as good of a picture in HD.  I mainly watch sports and this tv delivers a great picture even with fast moving players on the screen.  You can't go wrong for the price and the quality of picture.

I would say it may not be worth the money as it lasts about as long as the warranty and you can't get parts. There should be a class action lawsuite against Samsung. I would do my research and buy another brand, it may be a little more expensive, but you will have a working TV.

Bought 32" Samsung 2 years ago. Loved it while it worked.  One day 6wks ago picture disappeared. Sound remained.

TV repairman still has it, trying to get parts for it. So far have $200 into repair costs, and not yet fixed. Will not buy without an extended warranty again.

Tv was listed at $1089 and saved an additional 10% by using my sears card. This is the only name brand 46 inch tv I found for under $1000. Not to mention the picture is perfect. Like most lcd tv's the sound is average so my suggestion would be to fork over a couple bucks to purchase a surround sound system to maxamize this tv's capabilities.

5 stars!!!  I did some major research on this HDTV and it was an AWESOME buy at sears.  The picture is unbelievable and has great dynamic colors.  4 HDMI's and a USB input for veiwing you pictures of a camera.  I put this huge 55" HDTV up on my living-room wall and I have been receiving nothing but great compliments ever since.  The TV has different picture settings for everyone's liking (Energy saving, Standard, Sport, Cinema or Expert- which you create your own picture setting).   I would recommend this HDTV for watching sports, PS3 gaming and of course your day-to-day high def programing. ...

Bought this online from K-mart. Shipping was quick and tv arrived safely. Tv was purchased for Christmas gift for my 4 year old daughter. Hooked it up to insure working properly. 1st tried hooking straight to cable out of the wall; results poor picture quality. So I hook it up through HD Digital box; still poor quality picture. Next I tried HDMI cable still poor pic.Turned energy saver off helped slightly, tried to sharpen image; no effect. Main problem is picture looks blotchy, esp. when there is any movement on screen. Stand far enough away and at the right angle picture is fair. I would...

We've had our 26" Element TV now for a year and it's been great.  Great picture, great sound, easy to use, and we paid an awesome sales prices for it during Sears Thanksgiving Day sale in '08!  One caveat though - since it's not used a lot, I can't say how it would perform after a year of daily viewing.  But for a guest room or for a vacation home where the TV is played for several weeks several times a year, it was a great deal, and if Sears should repeat the fantastic sale price on this TV that we bought ours for last year, I'll be buying another for an upstairs bedroom.

After our den tube TV gave up the ghost after 15 years, I began my research for a 32" TV. I want great quality at a great value -  I am willing to buy the best once instead of buying junk twice.

Pros:
This TV has it all- 3 HDMI plus Component input plus an iPod dock. I am currently using 4 inputs total- 2 HDMI, 1 component and 1 composite, still leaving an HDMI and a composite available. The picture is stunning, the controls simple and the iPod dock so easy my 9 year old figured it out in under 3 minutes. The picture settings are vast and seem to be input-specific. Switching inputs is easy...

On Sunday 11/15/09 Sears marked this set down to $299 on their website, so I ran out and picked one up. They had to get a manager to approve the price, because it rang up at $369.  Four days later It is now priced at $369.  At $299, this TV was a good buy. At $369, I would pass.

The picture quality looks good once you adjust the contrast and brightness settings. The pre-set adjustments look terrible. I turned the brightness down very low and the contrast up pretty high which produced a fairly vibrant picture. The picture is not as good as more expensive TV's, but for the price I paid I...

Just bought the New Sony KDL-40VE5 & the pic isabove avg, the remote is easy they have kept it simple, however they get a poor rating on the speakers.  The speakers at some levels sound as if they are busted only at a med level watching cable TV.  Sony must expected every one to hook up this TV to a home sound system & would never find out how cheap the sony tv speakers sound.  Looks like I will have to buy a sound bar or return & hope to get one out of the box that sound as least normal.
