K-Mart

Under Review

Please, Please, have more than one cashier and customer service checking people out.  This seems to be a pattern at every K-Mart I've visited (except at Christmas).

Ditto! I live very close to a K-Mart but I do not find the store as inviting or accommodating as others. I know things have been tough financially for K-Mart and Sears but I'm not sure that they are attracting customers or trying to keep customers with these practices.

Kmart should install change dispensers at each register. This will drastically reduce wait times in checkout lines. To vote for this idea, kindly go to the following link: http://www.mysears.com/ideas/Automatic-Change-Dispensers-at-Every-Register

I cannot stand K-Marts lines. They are rediculous. I have more than once put my items down & left the store. They are losing many sales due to lines. Pay some more people to open more lines and I'm sure sales would improve. PLEASE!

I totally agree with more check outs at K-Mart. This is one of the reasons I don't shop at this store as often. I normally like to get in and out when just purchasing a few items. I tend to go to a similiar store only because when they have lines they quickly call about associates to help out.

i HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU. EVEN IN FLORIDA THERE IS ONLY ONE CASHIER AND USUALLY SHE IS A SENIOR CITIZEN WHICH I PERSONALLY DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BUT THEY ARE GENERALLY MUCH SLOWER AND WANT TO TALK ABOUT THEIR PERSONAL LIFE INSTEAD OF RINGING UP YOUR GOODS.

I think a hallmark of great customer service is the speed and efficiency at which an organization can provide service to their customers. McDonald's sets a great standard by helping customers very quickly in each one of their stores. Whole Foods also uses an innovative queuing system to speed up customer transactions! http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/23/business/23checkout.html?_r=1&ex=1183262400&en=c120e81f08d6f1f9&ei=5070&emc=eta1

I agree! I work in the same plaza as a BigK and every time I try to run into this store there is only 1 cashier and I don't always have time to wait. I have almost been late for work waiting in line behind 5 people with only one checkout open. Strangely enough there seem to be plenty of associates hanging out at he service desk chatting!

I just recently puchased many items for my home at both the King of Prussia and Berkshire Mall stores. The associates could not do enough for me. What a refreshing approach!! Especially as the holdiay season comes upon us. Kudos for the excellent customer!!! Thank you.

Every time I shop at Kmart there has been one cashier and one Service Desk person. I travel in my job and when I stop at any Kmart it is the same as in my hometown. Management should review high traffic hours and schedule accordingly. I have left because I can go to Walmart or Meijer and get in and out so much quicker. I live the same distance from all three stores, but Kmart is my last choice because of the lines.

I shop at Sears regularly. Kmart, not so much. I used to before it's competitors came in town but now, that those competitors exist, I don't have to deal with Kmarts long lines and incorrect price ring ups. I'm not making this up but out of the last ten times I've shopped at Kmart, eight of those times the price was not what it was claimed to be in the sales circular or in the advertised isle. And I'd have to wait in a forever line just to find out that I was being overcharged. I tried to give my local Fl. store the benefit of the doubt. I understand human error exists, but it became entirely too much. I simply stopped shopping there other than maybe twice a year. However, the competitor gets my business weekly.

Every time I go to Kmart I say to myself, why don't I come here more often, less crowded than Walmart, wider isles, nice selections. Then I get finished shopping and get to the checkout line. And then I say OH Yeah, now I remember why. And I don't go back for a long time.

K-Mart / Wal-Mart / Target / you are all shifting, and have been for years, to the idea that the customer does the work. 75% of the times I shop at K-Mart I never see any customer service or customer oriented personnel. When I do ask a question, the staff lacks enthusiasm and proficiency. Americans are beginning to be treated like aminals. Heard them in the door, get them throw the asles quickly, and get them out through self checkout lines. How rediculous is it that there are 10 people in line for a self-checkout counter. How insulting.

Gez, at my Kmart, there are many cashiers, must be your city. One thing I do NOT agree on, with any of you! SELF CHECK OUTS? Come on people, are you that lazy that you cannot stand in a check out line? Why do you want self check out lines? These stupid things put more people OUT of a job! Save someones job, and stand in a line, as I do! I refuse to use those self check outs! Get your heads out of your butts, and use the real check outs, so people have a job, not the self help! Get real, no wonder there are NO jobs! And you all call yourselves, AMERICANS???

I agree, K-Mart does need more cashiers. Thats why I want to work there, as a cashier. I have been trained in checking out customers faster and less errors. Also helping people as I can and greeting them with a smile and a hello or goodbye, as they walk pass. I think it would be a great benifit if K-Mart would have the same training for everyone.

I totally agree with you as to the need for more cashiers at K-Mart; especially the ones that don't just seem not to care. Ike.

I worked for K-mart as my first job. They have always had this problem. A lot of it was becuse of the Sears buy-out. They do not have enough hours per store. The company it self is broke the only reason half of the stores are still open is becuse they are the store in the area besides wal-mart. I feel that if the target here in huntington was still open our store would have closed.

WAY too few cashiers at ANY given time, I agree. Also, it would be wonderful if they did not hold you up by having to get the "only one working Cust. Svc. desk" person over to your line every few minutes to get instructions. I understand when employees are new, but...

I agree! Understand when times are slow and coverage gets cut back, but with your comment in mind. What I've seen other stores do or even the store that I managed in the past was have another associate/cashier close by when the line gets more then 2 or 3 customers. having a cashier stocking close by or doing endcaps can cut down on #1 customer frustration and #2 straighting andcleaning at end of shift.
