Since K-mart is a major part of Sears Holdings Corporation, it only makes sense that people should be able to make their Discover Card payments at K-mart as well as Sears.

Having this ability just at Sears is not fair to those who live much closer to a K-mart.  Since the two entities are very much intertwined, especially with Sears cards, let's expand our customer service and convenience adding this to K-mart.

Discover is a really small card in comparison to Visa/Mastercard and possibly Amex. Adding this one card carrier may be costly, I am not sure. Stick to VISA and MC which are almost held by every American. American Express is actually costly and so I would turn down the right to accept those cards at Sears or Kmart. Just thinking costs -

Discover Cards were originally launched by Sears... Sears later sold them, and as a courtesy Sears still takes discover card payments. Adding Kmart to this "courtesy" is probably not cost effective... unless "Discover" gives Kmart a financial incentive of some sort to do so.

Kmart is a fully owned subsidy of Sears Holdings. Originally Kmart Holdings, Kmart bought Sears in 2004 (yes KMART BOUGHT SEARS!) and Kmart moved their headquarters to Sears' headquarters in Illinois. Kmart Corp. and Sears Roebuck & Co. are now both fully owned by Sears Holdings Corporation. (Nasdaq, SHLD)
