I agree totally agree. Instead, I keep running into products listed as on sale on ly to find that they aren't when I get tot he register. If not deeper discounts, then certainly "updated prices" would be acceptable.
Know what's interesting? Sears' sales are usually deeper than the competition's. The difference is that Sears doesn't usually mention the amount you're saving. HD and Lowe's always mention how they're taking 10% off Energy Star appliances. When's the last time you saw or heard a Sears ad telling you how much you were going to save? Sears regularly runs sales of 10-20% off various brands, and regularly beats the competition, but the simple fact is that the consumer isn't aware of it because Sears fails to tell them in their tv/radio advertising. The perception that Sears is an expensive place to shop is only that: a perception.
