Networked Local Systems

I think we should be able to pull up transaction extracts from other stores.  If a customer comes in with a product purchased at another Sears store, and they do not have their recipt, we should be able to reseach it for them.  We can do that now if it was purchesed in this store, but not if it was purchased in another Sears.

I think that's done to reduce internal fraud, just like transfer sale orders can only be cancelled by the pick-up store, or how regular orders can only be cancelled by the store where the order originated. If I could go through any store's transactions, then I could, potentially, steal sales from other stores and re-ring them under my associate number, getting the commission and boosting my store's numbers. That's my guess.

Only Management can get into Local systems. If they're going to be that dishonest, they dont deserve to be in that position or work there period. I know not everyone is that honest however. And im not talking about complete access. Just read only.

But that's the thing. All you need to be able to do is read the transactions, which gives you the customer's name, phone number, address, salescheck number, purchase date, and purchased items. Knowing how people can steal sales from co-workers at the same store, and knowing that it occurs (rarely, but it does occur), I wouldn't trust most people further than I could throw them. But, like I said, this is all speculation. I don't know all the whys and wherefores regarding access to such things.
