Staff at the Sears Store

Idea_tail_up posted on May 16, 2009 at 03:28PM to Store Experiences

I shop at Sears during the week, when there aren't so many people at the mall.  It was hard to find someone to help me in the vacuum, luggage, household goods area?  I think a few more good employees would benefit the store.  Especially the one in Westminster CO!!

Offer a price scanner in every department

Idea_tail_up posted on April 30, 2009 at 10:51PM to Pricing & Policies

It would be great to have a price scanner in every department so that I could find out how much things cost before I bring them up to the register.

Too Many Questions!

Idea_tail_up posted on April 30, 2009 at 10:34PM to General Customer Service

Everytime I shop at Sears or Kmart, it seems as though the cashier is asking me if I am interested in signing up for a credit card, if I want to join the Craftsman Club, or if I want to take a survey.  It is too much when what I really want is to get home and watch "Lost".  I understand it is part of their job, and these are good programs.  Just a suggestion- only one question at checkout?  That I can deal with.

Save Money

Idea_tail_up posted on May 08, 2009 at 08:08PM to Promotions & Discounts

I work at Sears and find that Sears waste alot of money printing too many signs that get thrown away...Hundreds of signs go in the Garbage that is a wase of paper ink that equals Money in the trash. All sears has to do is put up a sign that says take off 10 15 20 % etc. regular price, and or specify which Items are effected. This requires only about e.g. in appliance 10 stratigically placed signs, instead of hundreds of sign changes, that waste time, paper ink and confusion that equates to saving...

Offer Layaway at all Kmart stores

Under Review
Idea_tail_up posted on April 30, 2009 at 10:26PM to Store Experiences

I don’t always shop at the same Kmart but I do always like to use their layaway. I think it’s a little odd that not all Kmart’s have layaway. Is this the decision of the individual stores? If all Kmart’s were to have layaway it begins to establish a new and improved and streamlined reputation for the company. Plus it makes shopping easier for customers.

MIA

Made in America, a new product line or perhaps, as long as we're imagining, Craftsman, Kenmore and Diehard. What I believe Sears needs is a national marketing theme for American made products. Sure, sell the imports but at whatever the expense, offer an exclusive product line that represents American capital, handiwork and design.  And a no-frills, non-profit Sears card at 10%.

Confirm in-store inventory before allowing people to purchase online

Idea_tail_up posted on May 01, 2009 at 12:36AM to Online Experiences

Customers are ordering their items online, receiving confirmation for pick up and arriving to the store to find out the product is not in stock.

needs more cowbell

Idea_tail_up posted on May 17, 2009 at 08:54PM to General Customer Service

I think it would be nice for there to be more associates available to assist me while shopping...actually, if there were ANY to assist me, that'd be so awesome!  Maybe the extra cashiers could take a few moments to walk through the store when they're not assisting customers, and see if there are any shoppers that look like they could use assistance!

K-Mart

Idea_tail_up posted on May 12, 2009 at 06:17PM to Store Experiences

Please, Please, have more than one cashier and customer service checking people out.  This seems to be a pattern at every K-Mart I've visited (except at Christmas).

Offer a customer service desk and a check out area—keep them separate

Idea_tail_up posted on April 30, 2009 at 10:35PM to Store Experiences

I’m not the most decisive person when I shop but when I finally do make a decision to buy something I need to make a fast getaway before I change my mind again. It doesn’t help when there is a delay at the checkout lines.

Cashers needed

Idea_tail_up posted on May 13, 2009 at 06:05PM to General Customer Service

Most K-mart has a big waiting line at check out, I have seen some people walk out because of this so I think you put in self check out and more crashers.

Also bring back your blue light specials

Customer Assistance Buttons in Each Department

Under Review
Idea_tail_up posted on May 01, 2009 at 11:36AM to Store Experiences

With my prior work at Kohl's I experienced an easy way for customers to be helped when there was no associate to be found.  Instead of wandering around the entire store looking for a qualified associate, there was a button attached to a support column in certain departments that, when pressed, would issue a page over the intercom that customer assistance was needed in that area.

After a minute or two, if an associate did not go over and manually deactivate the device, it would issue a second page....

Dump Citibank!

Idea_tail_up posted on May 13, 2009 at 07:59PM to Credit Cards & Financial Services

I have been turned down twice in the past year for credit increases, even though I always pay on time and pay-in-full my charges quickly. I have a fairly good credit score. Most recently I wanted to buy a new stove, which would have only needed a $500 increase in my available credit. They turned me down.

When I asked for an increase from J C Penney they offered me $1800. additional credit.

Guess who got my business ...?

Dump Citibank and use HUMANS to determine credit worthiness!

Teacher Appreciation Day

Idea_tail_up posted on September 25, 2009 at 03:57PM to Social Responsibility

It would be terrific if Sears would offer some type of discount card for teachers who can show proof of their employment.  A Teacher Appreciation Day would also be wonderful at the beginning of the school year.  As a teacher myself, these types of gestures at other major stores really make a difference in my support of these businesses.

Customer Service via Twitter

Development
Idea_tail_up posted on May 03, 2009 at 10:36AM to General Customer Service

If I am standing in the middle of the store and have an urgent question, but can't find anyone I'd love to be able to Twitter to Sears and/or Kmart on my phone and have an answer sent back to me, or for them to locate and dispatch an employee my way.
