I think Starrett makes some of the best calipers! Surdy, accurate, and easy to use and read. What more can I say! Mine came with a plastic case (not mentioned).
...

James454 says "Great Workbench - Very Sturdy" about Edsal 60&#34 Bench

The work top is beautiful & super sturdy. I received this a week ago and put it together today. I wanted a good sturdy bench that can be bolted to the floor since I will use it for reloading and operating the press causes a lessor bench to jump around. I like the metal edge around the work top. It will keep small items from rolling off and getting lost.

Unfortunately, shipping costs can be high. I live on the West Coast and it cost me $200 in shipping. It came with an extra stringer, a surplus of nuts and bolts, and a shortage of the wood screws for the top. The top is supposed to be pre-drilled, but it wasn't. The instructions are really poor and almost useless. I ended up looking at the pictures and just figured out how to assemble it. One problem is most of the instructions assume you have a metal top which is assembled differently from the wood. The instructions are also for about fifteen different configurations and I never found my model number. Also, be careful when torquing nuts....
...

James454 says "Nice Cabinets" about Gladiator 30&#34 Wall GearBox

I bought two of these and mounted them directly to the wall. Tip: Remove the shelves and the doors before mounting, it is much easier. When re-installing or adjusting the doors, do not over tighten the screws. The heads break-off easily! Then you will have to drill it out and extract it. Otherwise, they are great cabinets. The doors work smoothly and are held with a magnetic latch along the top and bottom of the doors. They look nice and are sturdy. I ordered mine on line and picked them up at a store. Although they are fairly well packed, the corners are vulnerable. The first one they wheeled out had suspicious damage to the box and I opened it on the spot and verified it was damaged. They replaced it immediately with another.
...

James454 says "Great Vacuum" about Craftsman 12-gal 5.0 peak hp Wet/Dry Vac

I bought this about a month ago so it isn't "seasoned" yet. I've used it to vacuum my two workshops and it does a good job. When I bought it, I asked if there was an extension hose and they sold me the one in the store which was 10' and cost $40. After I got home, I got on line and found that they sell a 20' hose for $25 (available only on line), so I returned the $40 hose (which was their professional line) and ordered the 20' hose. It is made of the same stuff as the one that comes with it.

It is relatively quiet and powerful. I wish I would have had it several months ago when one workshop flooded!

I have two minor complaints. The first is advertising it as 5.0 peak hp. There isn't anyway you are going to get 5 hp from that motor! It is approximately a one hp motor (although they don't tell you that, I measured the power consumption - 1100 watts = about 1 hp for a motor). Five hp would require about 5 times the power or 50 amps at 115 V. I think some one in their advertising department...
...
