Kwisatz says "For a couple wanting coffee, cant beat the price and quality." about Kenmore 5-Cup Digital Coffee Maker

My gf used to have this one-cup coffee brewer which was great for her since that is all she would have... but left me in the cold if I wanted some. We needed something bigger, but not something in the 10 cup area.

I was near the Sears store in Chicago so I stopped in and caught that not only did they have this 5-cup unit, but that it was programmable too. Not to mention it has a metal filter so I'm not wasting paper and the metal filter lets more of the coffee oils and flavors come through.

Haven't timed it but makes all five cups reasonably - I think the fact that I havent needed to time it show that it is within my expectations... it's no 30-second Bunn, but it also wont take forever either.

We use this daily and I'd highly recommend it.
...

Purchased these gloves to match the waterproof Carhartt jacket I purchased (Insulated Waterproof Breathable Jacket)... love 'em! About the only drawback, honestly, is that they are a bit bulky... but they do exactly what they say and have the Carhartt quality I expect.

Kwisatz says "Just not up more than Fall use... and too heavy for Summer..." about carhartt Waterproof Breathable 3-in-1 Parka (C76)

I purchased the Waterproof Breathable 3-in-1 Parka (C76) in hopes that it would be Carhartt's answer to the Columbia 3-in-1 jackets... but not quite. The C76 only has a quited vest and the arms dont have any insulation at all... so it's really only fit for Spring/Fall use and too hot for Summer, too cold for Winter.

I ended up shipping it back and got the J175 (Insulated Waterproof Breathable Jacket) instead, which is working very well for Winter already.

To be honest, for the price, I wouldnt recommend the C76 - just too limited in use and overly priced.... and the quited vest isnt really something I could see wearing on it's own simply due to very utilitarian styling.

Also, just FYI, I think Carhartt is discontinuing the C76 - it's kind of hard to find and thier website mentions something about not having it anymore or limited stock. I'm sure their d/c'ing it due to how odd of a product it is. IF it had a full insulated jacket it would easily be my first choice!
...

Kwisatz says "Great power, but they forgot the torque-limiter" about Craftsman 28126 6.5 amp Corded 3/8&#34 Pro Rear Handle Drill

I purchased this drill since the Craftsman Cordless 9.6v (or 12v?) drill just didnt have the power needed to use the hole-saw-bits I needed to work with. Great 6Amp power drove the holes I needed, but then noticed it doesnt have a torque-limiter. So looks like I have two drills for two different purposed. No worries... each have their benefits. I'll keep the 9.6v/12v cordless in the house and the corded in the basement for when I need it.

Regardless I'd recomment both, but they clearly serve different needs.
...

Kwisatz says "Great price, but not for big jobs" about Craftsman 11810 9.6-volt Cordless 3/8" Drill with Battery & Charger

I purchased this after my main drill (Professional DeWalt) was stolen and I didnt use it enough to justify the replacement cost... but unfortunately I think I went a little too low with this drill.

If you want to do basic drilling and placement os screws I think you'll be fine with this... I needed to do some hole-drilling (with hole-drill bits) and it completely fails at that that. Fails to the point that I think I'll need to buy another drill to do the job. :/

Bottom line - this is a great all-around-the-home drill for doing basic chores and whatnot... but if you ever get outside that realm at all, just spend the extra bit of money and get a higher-end Craftsman drill... this one is clearly home-use only.
...

Kwisatz says "For winter, skip the 3-in-1 jacket and get this one..." about carhartt Insulated Waterproof Breathable Jacket (J175)

For winter I had previously ordered the Carhartt 3-in-1 Parka which is a waterproof and breathable shell with a quilted insulated vest inside... but when I received it noted that the arms had no insulation at all! So at best a good Fall jacket.

Returned the 3-in-1 Parka and ordered the insulated waterproof breathable (J175) jacket and it's awesome - well insulated for winter and also waterproof and I dont get all hot inside the jacket either. The material seems to withstand as I would expect from Carharrt as well.

Looking for a winter jacket from Carharrt that's waterproof and breathable? The J175.

Looking for Fall/Late-Fall jacket with the same waterproof and breathability? Go for the [more expensive unfortunately] 3-in-1 Parka.
...

Kwisatz says "My favorite jeans, and nearly perfect... but one concern..." about Carhartt Series 1889 Loose Fit Jean (B189)

I have had my Carhartt Series 1889 loose-fit jeans (trust me, I had to lookup the website for the full name lol)... anyhow they are tagged as 'B189' in their scheme. Anyhow though I love them - they dont have all the pockets of normal Carharrt wear so they are really easily worn in social situations... and frankly the most comfortable pair of jeans that I own!

Now anyone who sees my reviews knows I am a nut for Carharrt due to their quality... but that is the only thing I have any concerns about with these.

I've only had the jeans about a 1 year or maybe 1.5 but already noticing that there is some tearing of the rear pockets from the jeans themselves and some other wear-points. Now don't get me wrong, some of this is pretty comfortable how 'broke in' they are, but they are definitely already in the 'work jean' category and less able to be worn out in social situations since they are a bit tattered.

Good job on comfort, style, color, etc... but wow I'm surprised about the lack of longevity...
...

Kwisatz says "Live up to their name, but concerned about long-term..." about Carhartt Work-Dry T-Shirt

I am pretty sure Carharrtt just came out with the work-dry tees this year, and I quickly snagged a few as this seemed perfect for midwestern muggy summers.

They certainly live up to their name - they're lightweight, and also dry quickly when wet. Their shirts are normally 100% cotton, but these are 60% polyester and 40% cotton - so they do what they are supposed to... but not without some comprimise.

The things to note with these is that they don't fit or keep their form like the usual Carhartt tees do... so that was a bit strange... and they seem to be a bit larger as well. Regardless if you wear a Large Carhartt tee, then a large work-dry tee is what you need. The other thing I have noticed is that the front of my work-dry tees are starting to some some 'pilling' or wear of the fabric already. This is concerning - I had some of my 100% cotton tees for years and yet to show any signs of wear, but already in one season I'm noticing wear on these work-dry shirts. :/ We'll see how the long-term...
...

These pants from Carhartt really live up to their reputation... heavyweight 12oz cotton duck... comfortable without being too heavy, and last a long time.

I purchased these bibs for use while working on my motorcycles... need to have some tools handy, but also need to be protected from fluids and yet easy to move around too. These fit the bill...

They are made from the same material that the Carhartt Duck (12oz) pants are made from, and about my only compaint is that they don't quite fit the same as the pants do. Of course these are bibs so likely they had to change some of the fit... but I still like them a lot.
...

I have a lot of Carhartt clothing... even though my occupation is not that of typical 'workwear'. Carharrt just makes quality goods...

This is my first Carhartt jacket and I was concerned at first that it's only their 8.5oz canvas and not the 12oz duck that their pants are made of... but when I received the shipment I was very happy with what I had purchased. Frankly the weight of the fabric is great - quality without being too stiff. Also the jacket is lined, so I am sure I can wear this now and through late Fall.
...
