RyanBrais says "Cooks great!" about Kenmore 3 Burner Gas Grill with Infra-Red Cooking

Purchased this grill on Saturday afternoon. Assembly takes some time due to the number of screws and bolts, but the instructions are easy to follow. Construction is decent. The stand is a little on the light side, so don't be trying to push it over grass or dirt, but it's fine for rolling around a patio. The grill portion is very sturdy. Nice solid lid. Doors work great and are sturdy as well.

Grill cooks great! Thick pork ribs cooks in 30 minutes on low heat and were perfect! I just followed the grilling tips book that comes with the grill.

Someone commented that you can't get the grill below 500 degrees. That's true, but the temperature is read below the cooking surface. It is not the air temp of the grill like when you have a top-mounted thermometer or when you set the temp on an oven. The cooking surface is around 500 degrees, but the air temp is probably around 300.

Clean-up is more difficult. Unlike a regular grill where you heat the grates, scrub for a few seconds and all...
...

RyanBrais says "Worked good for 2 years, then died." about Kenmore 7.5 cu. ft. Upright Freezer

I purchased this unit in January 2007. It worked well up until two months ago when the compressor started overheating. It was getting so hot that the paint on the compressor was cooking and you could not touch it.

I went to Sears and they gave me the 1-800-for-my-home. I called them but because I did not get the extended warrantee, I am out of luck. They are sending a tech out tomorrow, but could not give me any estimate on a cost to replace a compressor. If I decide it will not be worth fixing it, I will be charged $75 for the service call.

For only working 2 1/2 years, I am not satisfied. Glad I purchased it on sale. Make sure you get the protection plan.

What I do like is that this freezer is small so it fits anywhere. It is a manual defrost, so you have to shut it down every now and then depending on the humidity, but it's not that bad. If I had purchased the protection plan I would be happy right now. Live and learn I guess.
...
