Frances17 says "Longterm service" about Liberty Mutual

My mom used Liberty Mutual for her car insurance the whole time I was growing up. After I married - I went with what my husband had. Then went to another company because I got a discount as a teacher. I am with Liberty Mutual now, because the other company's rates went up $30 or more dollars every six months for the previous two years.

The personnel has been wonderful, friendly and helpful since the beginning, even looking for ways for me to save on my insurance when I call for simple questions. Fortunately, I haven't had a claim, but I remember whenever mom did, she always got prompt service and no hassles. I plan on being with Liberty Mutual for the remainder of my days.
...

champ17 says "No sales pitch when activating Sears Charge Card" about Sears - James F. Falls

When activating a new Sears Charge/Credit card I was presented with what seemed like a minute and a half or more sales pitch for idenity theft protection for $12.?? a month. I had called to activate my credit card not have my arm twisted to but something I did not want. After telling the person I was not interested in the plan, I was asked if I had a identify theft protection plan in effect to which I responded, "No". I was then talked to like I was not very smart to turn down this offer when I could cancel it in 30 days if I did not like it.

In an aggravated tone I infromed the person that I had called to activate my card not to listen to a sales pitch. To which she responded that she would show that I declined the offer and the call was ended. I hate this kind of tactic where you are instructed to call for one purpose and then they try to sell you something or try to sell you something more than what the call was about. This behavior leaves a bad taste in my mouth for dealing what...
...

mmommiz says "Check terms & conditions" about Geico

I admit I have been entertained by those clever Geico tv ads, the ones with the cavemen getting upset because they feel slighted or the little gecko getting chased around by people and also the money with "eyes". So when I decided to call to find out if I could get a better car insurance rate, I was very dissappointed. Granted, not everyone will be dissappointed, but I tried to get the best rate I could. The downpayment was much more than I had made with my present insurance company. The monthly rate was also more. So I told them I had no intention of switching. I told them I got the impression from their ads that I would save money by switching. The Rep said that I would save money in the long run but did not explain how. I assumed the bill would eventually go down once Geico understood I was a low risk. Still, I have a great driving record and I like to be rewarded for that every once in a while!
...

Sears Credit Card. Unbelievably poor customer service. Sears will not honor their 12 months deferred interest no payments promotion on large appliances. Customer service reps always put you on hold for 30 minutes no matter what time you call, then transfer you to another rep without saying anything, then kick you back to automated call system. Answer all of their online inquiries saying " you must call us". Good idea, I want to be put on hold for 30 minutes. I think they are non-responsive to dispute resolution because it allows Sears Card to charge $39.00 late fees and 29.99% default interest rates. You cannot resolve anything if you cannot get a response. Never, never use Sears Credit Card to purchase anything at Sears.
...

When i was buying a new car, I shopped online for different Insurance quotes.
State Farm and Geico gave me the most competitive quotes with State Farm being slightly lower than Geico.
However when I called the two companies, State Farm customer service was slow and they gave me a quote which was different from their online quote. Compared to them Geico customer service was polite, they did not transfer me multiple times and their quote was the same as their online quote. Their swiftness in completing the transaction and faxing me the documents helped me to get a car quickly and efficiently.

...

The day we arrived in Las Vegas Nevada 2000 miles form home american express closed or credit lines for a financial review and asked us to provide financial, proof opf income etc after the fact, the balances have always been paid n full, of course we had plenty of cash and our trusty master card visa.

I have been with State Farm for over 30 years and I am very satisfied with their level of service, the coverage, and their premium rates. Over the years, I have matured and my needs have changed, and State Farm has been there to cover me through it all. When I was a homeowner, when I was a 'young and inexperienced' driver, when I became a parent and purchased life insurance. I have had the same representative for over 20 years, and I feel like he is a partner more than an insurance agent. In these days of call centers and overseas customer service departments, it's great to know that when I need help, I can call the same person who has known me for years.
...

foghornleghorn says "Ed Jones sucks" about edward jones Roth IRA

Personally, I think Ed Jones has to be the worst investment managment company out there. I have my own personal account that I manage and during these troubled times have gained 2%. My Ed Jones large account has lost 55% and going down still. And, one has to pay really high loads to make buys and sells and a managing fee. If I knew then what I know now I would have RAN away when solicited by Dead Head Jones. Another problem that I have had is when I need to make a buy or sell my broker can never be reached. So I am usually buying high or selling low. In fact I asked to make a buy on Exxon a few weeks ago when the price was 76. and when I got the buy order in the mail I paid 80.! Ed Jones dosn't know what real time investing is. The managers are too interested in taking money than they are in real research of the companies that they solicite or in really taking care of the client....

GE MoneyBank is used for a variety of stores. When I went to a jewelry store, they used GE Moneybank to open a line of credit for me. When I went to the dentist & couldn't pay up front for a root canal, they suggested a line of credit called "CareCredit" and it was financed through GE MoneyBank. When I needed financing to get my home waterproofed to stop the flooding, GE MoneyBank was used.

Sounds convienent, right? Well, it is, but there's a price to pay. All accounts that I've had that used GE Moneybank (I've had several), the APR's were over 20%, except for one which was about 16%. My credit score is around 730, so there's no way it should be that much. They said they don't look at the credit score like most people, they have a flat rate. I wish I knew this at the time! Plus, the one GE Money account that was opened for the waterproofing shouldn't have been. I never signed paperwork agreeing to GE MoneyBank. An account was opened in my name from the "Home Improvement...
...

Ok here's my speel. Why are we spending so much money using credit cards just to get back a SMALL reward? The reward thing is just the credit cards way of sucking us in to getting a card in the first place. "Oh looky here, we will give you $50 back if you just spend $2000." Come on what kind of deal is that? Does this make sense to you? Doesn't make sense to me. And have you really sat down and figured out what your really paying for an item you buy? You may think you got it on sale but if you put it on a credit card you end up paying more then regular price for it. Intrest. What if you paid cash for that item? Then it would be a good deal and it would be sale price. Our grandparents and our great grandparents and so on and so on thought credit was a sin. If you couldn't buy it with cash you didn't need it. And if you wanted something you saved for it. I don't know about your grandparents but mine had a nice home, two new cars and no debt. Me, I live......

When I moved out of my parent's house my car insurance rate went up a lot more than I expected. I called to see if I can negotiate a lower rate and they wouldn't budge...so they lost me as a 10yr+ customer. Don't know if it's like that company wide or if it was just my particular agent. The actual service while I had it was decent though; I was just simply turned off with the curt responses of my agent when I told him the new insurance rate was really above my budget. Why would they want to lose a customer and have that customer share a negative opinion? Keeping customers happy should be a number one priority and if you aren't willing to budge at all, I'm more than willing to shop around....

Including making the product. Schwaab Stamp and Seal Company. I had $70,000 some odd $ when all was said and done. Well my son's father and I had broke up and I was poor so I had to w/d it and use it for moving and to live on for a while til I found a better job. I did. But they had no investment plan yet in their company because they had recently opened in Milwaukee. I worked for that branch here. As an Office Manager which is what I ended up doing at Schwaab in the end too. Oh and when you w/d it early b-4 you retire u get penalized by our wonderful GOV"mnt of 43%. So by then I did not have much. I know stupid move on my part. Maybe I'll win the lottery some day that I never play! HA! HA!...

I recently went on Medicare, and purchased AARP United Healthcare Supplemental Insurance. I chose it, because my late mother had it, and no matter how major her medical problems and expenses, nearly everything was covered with this supplement. You get a discount on the monthly payement if you let them take it directly from your checking account, and that saves you the responsibility of paying monthly and wasting a stamp. In addition, you get discounts on eyeglasses, dental and medication if you frequent the places that are in their system. Earlier this week I called in a refill on a nasal allergy spray to my Pharmacy. When I picked it up I showed my Supplemental Ins. card, but they could not process it because there wasn't a RX # on the card. So I paid full price of $59 for the prescription and left. The next day the RX card came in the mail, so I went back a couple of days later to get the card in the system. The Pharmacy REFUNDED the $59, and reissued the bill at $33,......
