Sears marketing people offered us a "Free" $10 coupon for signing up for its promotional e-mails. So I figured "Why not?" I was interested in Sears' ads. It seemed like a very clever promotion -- at first!

After I went to the trouble and inconvenience of signing up and opening my e-mail address to Sears, they did not give me a $10 coupon that I could use either in Sears stores or online for any purchase. They give me one $5 coupon to use in the store and one to use on line. Although the advertised headline was "get a $10 coupon, for signing up for Sears e-mails" you only learn latter that you get 2 $5 coupons.

And there are even more strings attached. I had to spend $50 or more to use each coupon. So if you spend $100 or more in one place, store or online, you can only use one $5 coupon.

If that isn't enough, when I went to the store, the Sales people refused to take even the in-store one. I Made a purchase of over $1,000.00, and the sales people refused to take even the...

Okay this is a different concept for lots of us but the newer form of news is called aggregate. Meaning this is a lot of various news sources and bits from anywhere, placed on this site called digg.com which filters out news based on responses from visitors. This is exactly like mysears.com with trending topics. If a topic is popular, it gets sent to the top. In digg.com there are plenty of categories from world news to videogames and whatever you like. It allows users to vote up and down on ideas, leave comments and I think this is the best of all the news source feeders I have found so far.

I used Vista Print to create my family's holiday cards last year, and the prices were so reasonable I was able to create two versions, complete with matching envelopes and address labels. Joining the mailing list provided me with a few good discount coupons. The cards were awesome, and I'll continue to use this site for all my future personalized printing needs....
