JoeyJingles says "A "David" fan with "Goliath" performance." about Lakewood 9 in. High Velocity Tabletop Fan

I started a new indoor job and shortly became aware I was the only one who thought freezing did not occur at 77 degrees. I went on a hunt and bought the Lakewood 9 inch desktop powerhouse.

Lakewood is a name synonomous with high performance fans with great longevity and power. I had previously owned the high velocity Lakewood units in 20 inch and 18 inch and knew this small 9 would perform. I was not disappointed.

I had little space within my cubicle at work and wanted something that could sit on my desktop. This little giant moves a GREAT amount of air and performs way beyond its size. It has three settings for speed and can tilt up and down for adjustment. It has run 9 hours a day for over 5 years now without complaint.

In the 2009 economy I lost my job and this fan has been delegated to moving air in our living room. It sits on the floor hidden beneath an antique hutch so it is not even seen by visitors. Our living room faces west and during the 100* days of July and August this lil'...
...

PSeifer says "Surprisingly powerful fan sounds like small aircraft." about Lakewood 9 in. High Velocity Tabletop Fan

It's hard to rate this fan for a couple reasons. On one hand it gets high marks for being so small and moving so much air. I have a 14" box fan that on HI struggles to push an amount of air equivalent to MED on this 9" fan, which makes it seem so much less efficient for the size. On HI this 9" fan will create a very nice breeze even in a mid-sized room and even turn magazine pages. Just baton down any loose papers.

But on the other hand the amazingly high volume of air comes at the cost of noise. Just crank it up, close your eyes and imagine you are at an airfield listening to a small aircraft buzz about. Seriously, that's what it sounds like. On LO it creates a nice, gentle breeze with minimal noise. On MED the wind speed increases and so does the noise. Turn it up and be blown away by wind and sound.

So this begs the question: what real purpose does this fan serve? Don't get me wrong; after trying so many so-called 'personal' fans that could barely blow a stamp off the table on HI, this...
...

I purchased this ceiling fan from a competitor and paid almost twice as much! So the price here is a steal!! Now onto the fan, it's beautiful!!! The pictures do not do it justice. I have the blades installed to show the piano black finish and its stunning. The frosted glass globe defuses the light to create a lovely glow. The fact that there are no chains hanging or swithes on the fan rocks!!! Its so clean and modern. The remote control has a great distance! I can be outside and control the dimmer on the light as well as the fan speed and direction. All and all this is a fabulous fan and if it will fit into your decor grab it!!!!
...

This little fan can move some air, but it is unusually noisy/loud. This appears to come partly from the blades and partly from vibration. I set the fan on the carpet and it still vibrated. Personally, I doubt that I could sleep at night with the fan running. :(...

I seen alot of ceiling fans in the past and this by far is sturdy, reliable & I got free shipping when I bought this. Too bad I won't now! Hey there Sears, how about some discounts and promotions?...

I've hated this Fan since the First day i installed it...it is sooo noisey and junky... you can't sleep because it's so loud.. AND ...the Light takes a special light bulb which is only a 40 watt ..and the glass part pf the light comes loose and rattles constantly you can adjust it to be more tight and within 20 minutes its loose again...i would never recommend this to anyone.....

This fan is overall helpful when you are building your house and money is limited in finishing your house. Overall quality and affordablity is what counts....

I received this fan as a Mother's Day Gift from my family. Boy, what a difference it makes! The larger blades really cool the room down. We have an older home and the rooms tend to get very hot during the Spring and Summer months. We have been using the fan since May and haven't had to turn on the A/C yet! I also really liked the remote control option. I can adjust the fan setting or turn the light on or off. The only complaint I have with the fan is the remote box on the fan itself. It was too large to fit under the bowl of the lamp and we could not put a hole in the ceiling. My husband had to secure the box outside of the lamp. You can see it instead of it being under the bowl but it is not too distracting....
